So imo mida at the moment is unbalanced and has pretty much 0 drawbacks/flaws.
To start it's in a tier of scout that 4 shots to the head similar to voc tier but mida shoots faster so big advantage there in ttk. For some odd reason mida has a huge mag for a scout rifle at a wopping 21 bullets and on top of that it's base reload is maxed. Like in what way is a large clip with max reload balanced? You can just spam shots forever without having to reload its insane. There's no penalty for missing shots! On top of that because of a large mag and fast reload why would you ever use field scout or whatever the other perk is that's not lightweight. Then worst of all the mida without a doubt in my mind has high caliber rounds as a secret perk. Those high caliber rounds really make it so u can't compete with mida from long to mid range because your getting flinched like crazy. Also the zoom on midas scope is too close it's meant to be used at long range as a scout why is it so effective in mid and extended close range.
I'd love to hear what everyone has to say supporting or arguing against my opinion please comment with something to add to discussion.
Edit: a lot of ppl are touchy on the phrase op so i changed it.
I'm enjoying the healthy discussion in here. Although there's still a lot of people just bashing my post because they love their mida. Also a lot of ppl are assuming I'm bad because I'm criticizing mida I just want the weapon to stop out performing other weps in there intended ranges where a scout shouldn't win. Midas strength should lie in it's actual exotic perk the extra mobility and hair trigger which equates to good strafing, getting to advantageous positions faster, and faster reactions.
I don't understand why people are replying this because my post isn't about it but ill address it. the comment of "why are you just now complaining about mida and weren't last year?". The answer is easy in year 1 there was a much bigger issue of the 2 shot exotic handcannons that killed at scout range. Additionally I think the last weapon update was just in december? Correct me if thats wrong but the meta only recently set in so this is the most appropriate time to address mida. I know I'm not the only one thats experienced it but I've been in close quarters to mid range situations with a pulse or AR and midas high cal rounds cause my gun to kick up like crazy so I can't land shots but the mida's totally fine and continues to peg me. I don't understand in what world that makes sense for a scout rifle to out perform a mid or close range weapon in their intended ranges respectively isn't that the point of the weapon classes?
Another comment I'd like to address is "wow if its so good why don't you just use it". The thing is destiny is a game filled with many guns that surely aren't meant to just be there as filler. They all should be viable choice in certain ranges/situations. I don't want to be forced into using 1 or a few select guns that are top tier just to be competitive and have a chance at winning I like to have fun using all the guns. After all isn't that what they're there for?
I'm going to add suggested changes so people aren't so scared of a nerf.
I suggest:
mida's mag reduced to around 15 or the reload is cut in half
mida's secret hcr are removed and replace quickdraw or field scout on the midas perk tree with hcr
increase the zoom slightly on midas scope to make it more of a long range weapon and to not perform so well in closer gun fights.
Thanks for reading my post I hope to see more quality discussion and healthy debates.

Man stop asking for nerfs. They already nerfed the shit out of all guns thnx to you cry babies.

Edited by StumpyJoeChilds: 1/26/2016 12:01:46 PMNo no no...... nerfing has proven it doesn't work. If they would buff other weapons we would have a counter. Problem is they nerf weapons into ineffectiveness and then we find a replacement. If weapons would be buffed instead of nerfed there would be no single dominant weapon. They ruin the whole weapon stack with each nerf.

Edited by BachelorOne: 1/26/2016 11:46:14 AMFor f*cks sake, shut up. I wish Bungie would implement a feature that immediately flags and hides any post containing the word 'nerf' or post implying that something needs one. Get in their face with a f*cking hand cannon, sidearm, shotgun, Fabian, or Hardlight...kill them at a range with Hung Jury or Not Like The Others/Treads, OR pulse rifle, you little troll. Ugh.
-
Just buff all the other weapons
-
No one complained about the MIDA in yr one lol I still kill people all the time with my Doom or with Hung Jury and the big bad Juju! It's not OP stop crying.

Edited by Malicious203FLK: 1/26/2016 11:34:05 AMBefore the 2.1 patch everyone tried to tell me that Mida would be the next gun all you babies would cry nerf about. I didn't want to believe it but you p*$$ies have proven me wrong again...

Whopping 21 rounds? VOC which you compared it to has 19. Only 2 rounds more for Mida. Not that bad comparatively to VOC
-
- Full auto - More impact - More stability Congratulations, you can know fight terrorism by yourself!
-
Would we be having this conversation if autorifles received the buff they were supposed to get?
-
Xur sold it before ib and trials. Its twice as popular and only growing in numbers..you people should really learn the difference between OVERPOWERED and OVERUSED.

Edited by Heidegger: 1/26/2016 11:36:48 AMThe mida can lose to Handcannon in their optimal range Auto Rifles in their optimal range Pulse Rifles in their optimal range Should I continue? Only difference the mida is from another scout that is 4 shot headshot is 1. Boost to agility 2. It fires on a hair trigger 3. It is a Stellar Sextant

Scouts got a buff. The gun benefits from this. No nerfs needed. Enough with nerf threads. Ty.

You want to nerf the most balanced weapon bungie have ever made for destiny? Great. It's time to kill has barely changed in a year. If I recall it's about 0.9? Nobodies using pulse rifles or autos anymore. Which makes scouts amazing since everyone wants to spam snipers. The current meta is what makes mida seem powerful. Handcannons, snipers, scouts. It's doing exactly what it's supposed to. Wrecking single shot weapons. It'll be a genuinely sad day if they nerf mida-multitool. The gun is great for everyone. It's easy to use for new players and it has a high skill ceiling. I would agree with your comments if they were here 6 months ago. The fact of the matter is there's nothing much else cry babies can nerf. Now the crosshairs are on mida. Hilarious

It's an exotic it's supposed to be good Btw it's not OP Get over it
-
Other scout rifles have fast fire rate too. The Mida is more used because it's the most reliable. Just because people are using it doesn't make it OP.
-
Look it's not that MIDA is great. It's not. It's that everything else sucks giant butthole. It seems that "weapon balancing" is synonymous with "When everything sucks, it's like nothing sucks" for Bungo.
-
No, it's fine. It doesn't do anything special but it's just fine weapon to use. Any buff or nerf would change that for the worse.
-
Dude this scout has been around since launch. It has always been reliable. The only reason u see it alot now is bc scouts actually are where they should be...don't start crying and get another good gun destroyed bc your a fckn crybaby..suck it up
-
I feel that it isn't op, but it just has no drawbacks. No stat is really bad, so why wouldn't you use it?
-
The range is the only thing that mida looses to a legendary scout at. But all other stats are overwhelmingly good. Maybe a further range decrease would make it more fair.

Edited by bobbe_stiff: 1/26/2016 10:28:15 AMi trade with quite a few mida users. i use jade rabbit. so there are things that can equal or even beat it in some situations
-
It doesn't exactly have the high caliber perk. They buffed its ability to stagger back before the dark below came out (basically the same thing) because it wasn't very good in pve. After the stagger was buffed you could stagger an ogre after several shots! As far as PVP is concerned, the gun has been unchanged in over a year. People used belittle Mida users in the crucible because it wasn't a very good weapon (some players knew better). The fact is, the weapon is very well balanced, not op, but every other weapon type has been nerfed to hell making Mida seem that much more powerful.

4 hit to kill. This explain the clip size. Plus, reload speed is max... but look at it's recoil and range... Well, post should be "satire".
