So imo mida at the moment is unbalanced and has pretty much 0 drawbacks/flaws.
To start it's in a tier of scout that 4 shots to the head similar to voc tier but mida shoots faster so big advantage there in ttk. For some odd reason mida has a huge mag for a scout rifle at a wopping 21 bullets and on top of that it's base reload is maxed. Like in what way is a large clip with max reload balanced? You can just spam shots forever without having to reload its insane. There's no penalty for missing shots! On top of that because of a large mag and fast reload why would you ever use field scout or whatever the other perk is that's not lightweight. Then worst of all the mida without a doubt in my mind has high caliber rounds as a secret perk. Those high caliber rounds really make it so u can't compete with mida from long to mid range because your getting flinched like crazy. Also the zoom on midas scope is too close it's meant to be used at long range as a scout why is it so effective in mid and extended close range.
I'd love to hear what everyone has to say supporting or arguing against my opinion please comment with something to add to discussion.
Edit: a lot of ppl are touchy on the phrase op so i changed it.
I'm enjoying the healthy discussion in here. Although there's still a lot of people just bashing my post because they love their mida. Also a lot of ppl are assuming I'm bad because I'm criticizing mida I just want the weapon to stop out performing other weps in there intended ranges where a scout shouldn't win. Midas strength should lie in it's actual exotic perk the extra mobility and hair trigger which equates to good strafing, getting to advantageous positions faster, and faster reactions.
I don't understand why people are replying this because my post isn't about it but ill address it. the comment of "why are you just now complaining about mida and weren't last year?". The answer is easy in year 1 there was a much bigger issue of the 2 shot exotic handcannons that killed at scout range. Additionally I think the last weapon update was just in december? Correct me if thats wrong but the meta only recently set in so this is the most appropriate time to address mida. I know I'm not the only one thats experienced it but I've been in close quarters to mid range situations with a pulse or AR and midas high cal rounds cause my gun to kick up like crazy so I can't land shots but the mida's totally fine and continues to peg me. I don't understand in what world that makes sense for a scout rifle to out perform a mid or close range weapon in their intended ranges respectively isn't that the point of the weapon classes?
Another comment I'd like to address is "wow if its so good why don't you just use it". The thing is destiny is a game filled with many guns that surely aren't meant to just be there as filler. They all should be viable choice in certain ranges/situations. I don't want to be forced into using 1 or a few select guns that are top tier just to be competitive and have a chance at winning I like to have fun using all the guns. After all isn't that what they're there for?
I'm going to add suggested changes so people aren't so scared of a nerf.
I suggest:
mida's mag reduced to around 15 or the reload is cut in half
mida's secret hcr are removed and replace quickdraw or field scout on the midas perk tree with hcr
increase the zoom slightly on midas scope to make it more of a long range weapon and to not perform so well in closer gun fights.
Thanks for reading my post I hope to see more quality discussion and healthy debates.

Ugh. Why don't we just replace all guns with marshmallow launchers? Then everyone will be happy...
-
The issue isn't mida, the issue is that everything else was nerfed to hell. Mida is used a lot less now that people have realized it isn't the new op exotic. A lot of things out match mida.

Edited by Are You Okay: 1/30/2016 11:10:31 PMBungie confirmed it has high caliber round as a secret perk in their first exotic update when they gave it that perk.
-
MIDA doesn't need tweaks. Everything else does. End of story.
-
MIDA only feels OP because everything else has been nerfed to shit. MIDA has and never will be OP, how do I know? I've been using it as my main primary since day one.
-
What's funny is seeing people like you give input on a weapon that has remained untouched by nerfs and buffs since day one. It has always been the most balanced weapon in the game. It just took the masses a year to figure out how to use it correctly.
-
jesus christ, mida is not OP, it never was and never will be, it just happens to be one of the 3 exotic primary weapons that are actually worth using as everything else has been nerfed to shit because of people like you. you have no -blam!-ing idea what OP means in this game. "why are you just now complaining about mida and weren't last year?". The answer is easy in year 1 there was a much bigger issue of the 2 shot exotic handcannons that killed at scout range." lmfao, is that really the only reason you think that handcannons were considered OP? the exotic handcannons literally were the best choice for every situation and obliterated every other primary weapon(excluding other exotic handcannons) at any range while maintaining the fastest killtimes in the game, nothing came even remotely close to the killtimes, best alternative were pulserifles after their buff and still then the last word/thorn could kill you 3 times faster than any other pulserifle in the game. then handcannons got nerfed to the floor and have been nerfed with every balance patch since, with the exception of increased accuracy while ADSing, but still inconsistant till the point where its RNG wether you hit the target or not. and yet thorn/TLW are once again the best primary weapons in the game, thats how shit everything else has become mida comes nowhere close to this description
-
I think you left out the part about having the highest aim assist of any scout.
-
The OP part about it is I could use it as a shovel if i absolutely had to
-
Mida needs some kind of nerf I'm sick of seeing it in pvp, zero recoil, stupid damage, stupid range, stupid RoF and huge mag. The people who say it's not op are the people who need it
-
Its a exotic and your a game breaking wanker.
-
Mida is the most balanced gun in the game. Just because lots of people use it doesn't mean it's op.
-
The kid destroy the game!!!!stop crying kid damn!
-
The flinch on it is a little ridiculous but other then that its balanced in my opinion

Edited by A Wild Zebra: 1/29/2016 9:07:17 AMThe only reason MIDA is "OP" (definitely not OP) is because scouts were never very relevant in crucible. I have used MIDA for almost everything since HoW. It's has always been a great weapon. It's just overused right now. It'll die down in a little while, trust me. Edit: If you reduce MIDA's mag size, it won't be very exotic. The same goes for its stagger effect. That's part of what makes the weapon exotic!

Edited by DSRT976: 1/29/2016 9:04:44 AMI suggest: Just leave the game. Peoples like you are real cancer of this game. You nerfed to the ground everything you touched in Y1 and now continue to ask for nefrs everything in your sight, just because it wasn't nerfed before?! Oh Lord Almighty!

Edited by HAiDYADO: 1/27/2016 7:47:11 AMwhyre are people giving hate and responding negatively..? unlike 99% of posts, he actually has a point and makes sensible 'tweaks'.. yes, 21 rounds are extensive, reducing to 15 or 16 rounds is understandable.. yes, hidden HCR are wowsa, having HCR as an optional perk, instead of quickdraw or agility, is understandable.. good post and good suggestions.. (:

I hate the weapon because nearly Everyone uses it and there's no diversity. I even hate the sound it makes while shooting, and the enemies who walk left and right again to avoid getting headshots from my Jaderabbit. It's so much better and takes more skill to use.
-
It doesn't need any changes. I've used Mida quite extensively since year 1. Something like 17k kills with it. When it comes to crucible, the HCR are really it's biggest selling point. It's 4 precision shots for a kill with it. It's not like people just stand still and let you shoot them in the head, and if they don't move around then they deserve whatever is coming their way. Higher impact scouts are a 3 shot kill. Convalescence Duty, and Last Extremity as two pretty solid examples. There are many counters to the Mida tool. In close range TLW, Monte Carlo, and Doctrine of Passing immediately come to mind, and there are many others. Most of the time if you enter the optimal engagement zone against those weapons with Mida you will lose. Also, a lot depends on whether or not you get the jump on someone. In short I entirely disagree with your opinion. The weapon is over used right now, but lots of weapons are over used. But over use does not indicate over power. Just my two cents.

Buff weapons you feel are inferior
-
mida has been amazing since year one. like wow, a scout rifle that's better than the others.. did you forget it's exotic? whoa didn't see that one coming get over it mida doesn't need fixing at all. it's so easy to counter it also. I'm not gonna say "git gud" but yeah
-
Tldr version: Op-I'm a crybaby that keeps getting killedby mida. Must be overpowered since it acts different. Community-it's supposed to act different, it's exotic. Op-exotic doesn't mean different than all the rest of scouts. Community-yes it does. Its exotic, it's supposed to be different. Op-you don't know what exotic means. Community collectively facepalms
-
I don't like that everyone started using it in year two, I've been a year one mida user and its probably the most balanced weapon. What if everyone used auto rifles then they'd say there op anything that people use to much everyone says is op.
-
The gun is aids and its the new meta crutch for bad players. Just camp and snipe people off with it! Poooosssiesss.
-
As long as mida isn't touched in pve idgaf
-
There will always be a gun that's King of crucible, year 1 it was thorn, begging of year two it was hawksaw (actually any pulse rifle) , now its mida. If it were to get nerfed, a new gun will emerge as King.
