I think its very important that this is discussed. Iron banner is fine once a month for a scratch to the PvP players. That being said not everyone is a PvP player. My favorite teammate doesn't like playing Crucible for long periods of time and we both enjoy Destiny's PvE content.
So why don't we get a PvE event equivalent to the Iron Banner.
Weekly Crucible Bounties=Nightfall
Heroic Strikes= Weekly Crucible Playlist
Raid= Trails of Osiris
Iron Banner= Well nothing.
So why don't we put our heads together and think of a cool PvE event that could happen maybe between each Iron Banner.
So, some of the ideas thrown around are a horde mode with no round limit.
Treasure hunt for bosses going through different activities.
Special Strike-tier bosses in Patrol mode across the different Planets.
The treasure hunt and the horde mode defense are getting alot of traction. Meanwhile the idea of a very large scaled boss that can't be only three manned like the Court is getting some love.
Edit: Nice guys we are trending. Keep it up, I'll try to give my feedback as much as I can.
2nd Edit: Nice job guys Cozmo is rolling with the idea as well. Keep it up.

The reason why we don't have monthly PvE events Is because of content... A monthly PvE event would require new content to be created, tested, and spawned in a month. Do you know how much manpower, money, and coding that would take? Now don't say that you would be fine with just different bounties and different colored ships and gear for rewards. I'm sure you would want each month to be drastically different from the other so that you don't feel like you're playing the same thing over and over. Pvp events are easy to make as all they have to do is just set some rules or add a mode for it. Nothing really new, nothing really the same.
