To be quite fair, a server for Destiny would cost a bit more than $45.
But, then again, that wasn't too much for DICE and EA. IIRC each Battlefield 4 dedicated server actually runs four virtual servers on it at the same time.
That is potentially 256 players duking it out [i]with[/i] vehicles and Levolution events.
I'm sure Bungie could run far more than 4 measly virtual servers on their dedicated hardware.
[spoiler]What makes this sting especially is that we don't have dedicated servers despite the content/dollar price gouging and the microtransactions.
Activision is one of the biggest players in the market. They could easily foot the cost for dedicated servers for Blops 3 and Destiny.
The bottom line can take the tiny hit.[/spoiler]
