Jaik’s enormous legs shook the ground around him.
“*What are you doing, fallen?*” The Archon asked.
“*Protecting my true friends, Jala.*”
“*How do you know my name?*” The Archon’s eyes widened before realising. “*Jaik...? You’re supposed to be dead!*”
“*Hm. Youngest kell in Eliksni history, and you attempt killing me.*” Jaik stood straighter. “*I went underground, shrinking smaller, until I was invisible to you.*”
“*AGH! ENOUGH OF THIS!*” The Archon yelled, lunging at Jaik, weaponless.
Jaik spun sideways and used two of his arms to punch her in the back of the head.
“*Ah!*” She yelled as she fell face first on the floor. “*Dammit! You didn’t remember the path! You abandoned it!*”
Jaik leapt on her back, holding her down. “*I’ve always remembered! But I saw the futility of our pointless battle. The Great Machine left us because it thought we were ready! But our petty differences tore us apart!*” Jaik lectured her.
The Archon lifted Jaik off of her, and punched him in the jaw.
Jaik grabbed her other arm with two hands, and punched her in the face and the stomach at the same time. As she was stunned, he grabbed the satchel the ghosts were in and threw them over to a still Sasha.
“*Son of a dreg-*” Jala gasped, clutching her stomach. She reacted quickly and threw herself at his legs.
Jaik ducked low, grabbed her head and threw her into the rear portion of the room, the airlock.
Jaik quickly opened the door, kicked her into it, and closed it.
The Archon held on to a bar to prepare for a fight for dear life as Jaik walked over to the glass door.
“*You should not have betrayed me, Jala.*”
The Archon’s four eyes widened as Jaik began the jettison sequence. As the Archon’s grip began to loosen, she looked one last time at Jaik as she flew into the dead air of space, freezing instantly.
“*Goodbye, Jala.*” Jaik looked out the airlock, clicked a few times, and then turned to the group.
======================
Ralph and Harrol were already alive again.
Typical, Harrol was over Sasha, tending to her. Ralph was bridal carrying a ko’d Zara down.
As Harrol took off Sasha’s helmet, he whispered: “C’mon, please be okay…”
He was almost blinded by the light that emanated from her.
“Har- Harrol?” A totally different voice answered. It sounded like she had a second pair of vocal chords. An echo came from her voice. Ethereal, almost.
“Wh- What the hell?” He rolled a still Sasha over to see…
That she was awoken.
======================
“I DON’T CARE HOW WE’RE GETTING TO THE CITY, BUT WE ARE GETTING THERE NOW!” Harrol yelled in the brig.
They had fought through the remainders of Scar to reach this point. All three ghosts were working on redirecting the ship to safely land near the Tower.
Jaik was standing guard at the door.
“Will she be okay?” Jaik asked, concerned.
“Dear Traveler, I hope so.” Harrol said, glancing over at Sasha’s body.
“Rebarbra pie? I would loovve some rebarbra pie...” Zara muttered woozily, throwing up in the makeshift cot. Ralph groaned and grabbed yet another washrag.
“We got it! The pilot Servitor is now ours!” Sasha’s ghost exclaimed.
Harrol took another chance to examine Sasha’s face. She had become a bright orange. Her hair turned a deep blue, embers flaming from the tips. Her eyes changed from their bright green to a golden yellow, the colour of her visor.
Ah, and she held her beloved helmet in a tight cradle.
She flinched, and her hair became pure flame.
“HOLY SHIT!” Harrol reeled back, and over the railing. His helmet slightly cracked.
Zara stared at her. “I wanna touch the bright light, Ralphie… Can I touch it?” She said, leaning towards Sasha, nearly falling out of the cot in the process.
‘No, nonono, nonononoNO!” Ralph pulled her back to the cot. “How long is it going to be, she’s got a screw loose from the rotten ether room!”
“We’re nearing atmosphere!” The ghosts answered.
The hull began to flame, and Sasha began to bounce about. Jaik picked her and Zara up, to protect them from the rattling around them. Zara may burn his skin, but they were family to him now.
“This is tower 3. We sense Ghosts on that ketch. Who are you?” The air control asked.
“Ay, that’s Sasha!” Amanda Holliday said, welcomingly. Harrol clicked onto the comms.
“Yes, and we need to land! We have two badly injured guardi- people, aboard!”
“We’re also detecting Taken and fallen still on that ship. What is going on, Guardian?”
Harrol gulped. “Oh, well, you see….”
Sasha, gloomy, said: “The video files; my helmet…” She lifted the helmet over to Harrol.
“Aha!” He pulled out a cord and inserted it into his gauntlet. “This will explain everything!”
======================
About an hour later, most of the important footage was shown on every screen in the tower.
A duo looked up from the bar.
“What’da ya think that’s about?” A bounty hunter asked her partner.
“I dunno, but it ain’t very pleasant.” Her partner replied. A explosion was seen on the screen.
“J- jamie…” A voice was heard on the screen.
And so, Jamie, the bounty hunter, looked up.
======================
“Oh. We- uh- we see.” The vanguard replied, and deactivated the city’s automatic guass cannons.
As the group loaded onto a skiff, Sasha was still motionless, only making slight movements.
Jaik continued to carry Zara during the landing sequence while Ralph held on to the nearest pole.
“I- I- I- don’t like Skiffs!” He said, rattling about.
Harrol held on to Sasha, cradling her.
“You’re gonna be okay… You’re gonna be okay....” He whispered to himself.
======================
A squad of guardians was awaiting them as they landed in the plaza.
“Okay… So, Jaik, can you carry Sasha?” Harrol looked up at a hunched over Jaik.
“I can.” Jaik lifted up Sasha effortlessly as Harrol held on to her helmet.
Ralph was puking in a bag.
As the door raised behind them, Harrol raised a hand to protect his eyes from the sun.
“I want dooooown!” Zara exclaimed behind them, still dizzy. A stray slap hit Jaik’s face, leaving a slight burn.
“Hisss!” He said, a bit angry, but still held on to her.
As they exit the skiff, most guardians in the tower were there, surrounding them. Only the front row had weapons raised.
He set Sasha down.
======================
“Hey! Fallen!” A human hunter said.
“Eliksni-” Jaik sighed
“Whatever!” The hunter said, back, twirling his hawkmoon.
“Hey, I thought only Sash-” Ralph began to point out.
“Not now!” Harrol exclaimed.
An exo warlock who had her gun raised, pointing at the group, suddenly fell to her knees, looking at the fuzzy Jaik, her eyes turning pink.
Then, she jumped up and started shouting while Harrol was explaining the situation.
“OH MY TRAVELER HE IS SO FLUFFY AND CUTE!” She yelled, dropping her weapon and putting her hands to her cheeks, jumping up and down. “I WANNA HUG HIM SO BAAAAAD!”
A warlock from the back shoved her out of the way. “Hello, I’m the head of first aid, here. Call me Raiven.” The warlock informed. He looked at an extremely bright Sasha and a dizzy Zara.
He clapped his hands together, and rubbed them. “Looks like I have some work to do!” He ran off to grab a gurney.
“What has happened here?” An awoken warlock demanded. “Is that… Is that the guardian that lives on the moon?” The warlock questioned.
“Yes, her name is Sasha!” Harrol was trying to keep calm, and give out as much information as he could. “You all may know her as the Taikonaut!” He then realized what he was saying. No one knew Sasha.
“WHO!?” A hunter called from the back. “HEY, FLOOF, DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT IS?”
The warlock looked back, disgruntled, and then turned around and rubbed her chin. “Hmm…. I think I do… but I thought she was human!”
“She... she was...” Harrol said.
“Then what happened?”
“She... infused a prime servitor worth of darkness.” Harrol admitted.
Every single guardian looked at them.
“WHAT!?”
======================
The crowd began an uproar of questions.
“howisshealive?wheredoesshelive?what’shernameagain?” The masses asked, backing away, ever so slightly.
======================
Sanders and Ayria sat at the cafe.
He saw a familiar figure among the new arrivals.“Oh, it’s Ralph.” Then he looked at the figure in the huge Fallen’s arms; it was the Taken guardian, it was...
“Z- Zara?” He stammered, dropping his glass.
======================
Ravien pushed Sasha through the crowd on a gurney, towards tower north. As he got there, him and Harrol got ready to lift her up the stairs. Jaik was being held back by a certain exo warlock superglued to his leg.
Heh. Jaik didn’t even have any armor on him, they never had the chance to find any. He was buck naked.
Thank god fallen don’t have privates… Harrol thought to himself.
An Exo Titan at the stairs pulled a donut out of his mouth and pointed at Sasha.
“Hey!” The Titan finished chewing. “She looks like cotton candy!”
He went to touch her hair when it suddenly burst into flames.
“HOLY SUGAR HONEY ICED TEA!” The titan exclaimed, falling backwards.
Jaik, having gotten the warlock off of him, was now using a towel to separate the taken burn between him and Zara. He stepped over the Titan and hunched over to fit in the hallway.
