It was very distressing. We had another break-in some months later, that time through a bedroom window. We've since moved from that house into a condo. The rest of the time we were there whenever I got home, I never quite shook the urge to search the house from the outside for signs of a break-in and from the inside once entering. I was always worried for my wife. The neighborhood was supposed to be a good one but all around it were signs of increasing crime.
