Agreed higher light level fireteam raids tend to go alot smoother but higher light doesn't necessarily equate to higher skill - reason is RNG, challenge mode has guaranteed 320 drops but still kinda random - as far as you being an elitist, it depends on how you conveyed your concerns but you do sound pretentious

If someone dies because they stand out in the open and just panics and gets annihilated and this happens multiple times im going to address it. The raid isnt hard providing people do their jobs but i dont want to have to carry some scrub who should still be learning the basics of the raid in normal mode and how to use cover
