I find it a good indication of how pathetic our politically correct society has become that you felt you needed to defend yourself for identifying them as "British" (which is likely what they are) by saying you don't hate British people. SMH
It shouldn't be offensive to call someone British. or Nigerian, or Japanese or American or anything for that matter. Sounds to me, by your description, that they were likely British (likely by their accents), and they were children (likely by their young voices). So just leave it at that and stand tall. :)

Totally get it. But that's sort of my point. Hopefully prior to walking out of our houses people can put on their big boy pants and just get over silliness of being offended by and needing reparations for every little comment they decide they don't like. What you said was perfectly acceptable. If somebody is offended. Bummer.
