Recently i was called an elitist when doing a raid with an lfg team. When forming the team we had 5 318+ guardians and one of them suggested his lowly 309 friend to fill the last spot. Myself and another teammate showed our displeasure in having a low light character join us as we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not.
Against our better judgement we let this player in. After 5 attempts on warpriest with the same 309 dying we finally passed it any moved on to golgoroth. There this player died alot. And then when i asked why are you dying all the time to him and that maybe you should raise your level to 315+ before doing a hard raid he snapped back at me you are an elitist.
I dont know why he called me an elitist. Maybe it was because i was staying alive and he was dying alot. Then he said that those requirements arent needed to beat hard mode and that is elitism because i have a higher light than him.
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear. Its not my fault that he isnt skilled enoughto get to 315+.

Edit: we were wiping after the guy in the video missed grabbing the gaze causing most of the team to get wrecked.

Light level doesn't determine skill
-
How can you be elite when you don't play on PC?
this is a joke, put your Gondorian flame swords away
You are an elitist because you class lower level gear as failure in skill and don't bother considering that time is a very important factor to gear level. It's fair enough to assume you can't do hard raids below a certain light level but it is elitist to assume skill is the only requirement for gear.

Check this elitist kicking a 318 guy because he wasn't 320. https://youtu.be/RwVFHf1HbdY

Git gud lol

You and your team must be pretty awful at the game if you're all 318+ and can't function with a 309 in the mix. Plus do you remember how you got to 318? Oh yea by starting at a "Low level" (even though 309 isn't low at all). Get off your high horse and get good fgt
-
No you just got luckier on RNG then this guy did.. it's that simple.
-
OP's original post = definition of elitism, selfishness, arrogance, bias, stereotyping, etc etc......
-
Looking at all the comments I get the feeling nearly everyone (me included) thinks you are an elitist!
-
People near 318 LL aren't necessarily skilled. They could of gotten extremely lucky with RNG.
-
Seems like bait... OP asks if elitist and says elitist things. Sayd needs to be 315+ to beat hard raid when it was first released people did it sub 310... bait?
-
A elitist asks a player why he keeps dying a helpful player offers advice to prevent him from dying.

Edited by YuriCRSAR: 1/20/2016 11:43:35 AMLol this douchebag again. Stopped reading at "318 are skilled and 310 are not". Edit: had to read more...so the 309 dies and with 5 318s it took you 5 tries to kill the warpriest???? That just proves the problem are not 310s
-
Take a step into trials of Osiris and see where your 318 light gets you. Don't bitch about people not doing a raid when you're god awful at other end game content. Don't be a dick your whole life.
-
From that clip it looked he wasn't sure where to go and the general plan for Golgoroth, I think everyone knows by now where you can hide from him, as most will be aware after a while it just becomes muscle memory. Let me ask did you ever explain anything to him? Did you even ask if he knew what he was doing and more importantly was comfortable? Tbh you do sound like an ass, the fact you've called him out to mock him is pathetic you could of just left it. I've run raids with loads of bellends but I don't winge on the forums. Maybe next time if your doing a speed run make it clear or at least have the patience to help others?

I agree id rather run 318's through to knock it out in a little over an hour mindset but it can be done with a few low light folks. It does take longer but it can be done a lot faster than 4 hours. Usually low light is associated with lack of skill but sometimes high skill makes up for a low 300. Several weeks back I helped about four low levels complete a few legs and took about 1 hour to clear Warpriest challenge. The reason being was the lack of knowledge not skill. So it goes both ways.

My whole fireteam got to oryx around 305. Eat butThole elitist scrub. Just kidding. Light level doesn't have anything to do with skill. But it's harder to hide a lack of skill with a low light level. I haven't been able to play much since hard mode came out so I'm still 310. But I'm still. an experienced/skilled player
-
To be honest dude I'm twice as good as you in pve and pvp. I never find anyone to help me do the raid. I've literally completed the raid twice. I've had many players that were higher light than me in the raid and they still died more than me. In fact I've ended up taking lead for people that have done it more than me.

Just carried a 309 and a 299 in different occasions on hard mode warpriest and golgoroth. They stayed alive!! The key is to stay alive and follow institutions. Communication is key.

What a queer

If he really was bad, than op was right. If he wasn't as bad as he suggests, than op elitism nerf plz
we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not skilled.
Few things wrong with this statement: 1. PvE requires little to no skill given how shallow the combat is. It's the same enemies with more health that have the same attacks that you can avoid. 2. I've swapped from playing my hunter to my warlock, my hunter has 310- light and my warlock has even less. Light isn't an indicator of skill, it means you got lucky in a raid. I have more respect for people who have Trials/IB than I do for the elitist scum of the earth that think they're hard because they can stand in one spot and shoot a bullet sponge for 15 minutes. 3. You're drawing a large contradiction. Saying you're not an elitist, then saying that everyone with a lower light level is not skilled? Alright. TL;DR- OP is fgt and elitist scum, thinks he's big for having raid gear and everyone below him is apparently nonskilled. OP should do some crucible with me to see if a 290+ top 1% warlock can do some damage to him :-)
-
Hold on...a group of 5 318+ could not carry?
waiting for the bait tag
-
Your not that good with that grimoire score.... ;-)

You do realize it is impossible to get to 315 without guess what DOING THE HARD RAID. Or trials but that requires more skill than most people have.
-
What a Dick that is all.. I'm not a elitist but people have no skill below 315.... oh I'm sorry I've not got the RNG gods on my side...
