Recently i was called an elitist when doing a raid with an lfg team. When forming the team we had 5 318+ guardians and one of them suggested his lowly 309 friend to fill the last spot. Myself and another teammate showed our displeasure in having a low light character join us as we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not.
Against our better judgement we let this player in. After 5 attempts on warpriest with the same 309 dying we finally passed it any moved on to golgoroth. There this player died alot. And then when i asked why are you dying all the time to him and that maybe you should raise your level to 315+ before doing a hard raid he snapped back at me you are an elitist.
I dont know why he called me an elitist. Maybe it was because i was staying alive and he was dying alot. Then he said that those requirements arent needed to beat hard mode and that is elitism because i have a higher light than him.
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear. Its not my fault that he isnt skilled enoughto get to 315+.

Edit: we were wiping after the guy in the video missed grabbing the gaze causing most of the team to get wrecked.

Elitism a problem in gaming
-
Probably because you didn't ask as nicely as you say you have here. Besides, regardless of his light level he's still be dying a lot. At the level he was at he's fine for hm. The only thing it affects is the damage he deals, not so much survivability. If he's unfamiliar with hm, that's probably more a reason for him dying a lot, not his light level. Besides everone knows hm is the best way to get past 310 light level lol.

Didn't realize that rng equaled skill. I have almost 700 hours in this game but I'm only 313 because I can't get anything but mothering shards from the raid. My friend got 318 from one completion and he was 306 at the start. Base skill off grimore score if you are to base off anything. Honestly you should just stick with your team and teach them your amazing skilled ways if you are so much better than them. A real skilled player unlike yourself would have been able to teach someone how to do warpriest.
Rant ended
Because 1 person died on warpriest you failed multiple times? And you say 318s are skilled. Skilled players should be able to beat warpriest a man down with comparible ease.

Edited by ALM1GHTY PUN: 1/20/2016 1:49:24 PMeither the high levels let him fell or they weren't doing there jobs. If that's true then Mr. Mlg y'all aren't worth playing with.

Had this 298 friend and took him into a hard raid, got to hard oryx in less than an hour.
-
Only Sony scrubs post trash like this
-
Is this satire? Because otherwise not only do you all look like very poor players, you look like assholes aswell
-
That's absolute bullshit. I went into a hard raid on My brothers account at 299 and came out a 308. Never failed and everything was first try. So it depends on the player
-
None of it matters... Not even a little bit... Sort your priorities!
-
Edited by Phil Free99: 1/20/2016 12:32:43 PMYes it's a problem...light level has nothing to do with skill just as your elitism does not mean you have skill, In fact I bet I could pwn you in crucible with 295 light.
-
I remember though, I was never ever going to raid in destiny up until like 2 months ago. Until I met this one guy doing the nightfall and he carried my sorry 304 Ass to 310. He made me learn the mechanics and how to survive. All it takes is one person to give you a chance. And now I carry other people through the raid weekly :)
-
If you can't take some at 300 through with 5 318+ he isn't the one that's not skilled
-
Your skill is NOT based on light! You can't be serious!

Edited by An Apple: 1/20/2016 1:16:40 PMAn elitist saying that elitists are a problem. What you're beliefs about other lower level people are is EXACTLY what we call an elitist. Man people within the age group of 10-12 should really reconsider before posting. Edit: Lets put it this way. If somebody offers a lower light level into the party and you deny it than you are an elitist. If you go on the recruitment forums and post for people 318+ with ToM you are an elitist. If you come on THE DESTINY FORUMS and claim that you are not an elitist yet you say you do not want anybody below 310 in your lobby because they are not skilled and then you say that you believe that people below 310 are bad and have no skill. YOU ARE A GOD DAMN ELITIST. I like Donald Trump better than you. I bet you a lot of people do.

is this satire or are you just a twat?
-
Well , your right he shouldn't be tangling with hard mode just yet , but I know I finished all the way to oryx as 307 without carry and I was okay , so gear isn't everything . The only thing that makes ppl do this( elitist shit) is ridiculous rng on bungies side , and only a few ways to get gear to Max your lvl . Also that video is shaming , and is against forum policy.i bet though if you were a low light lvl , you would have no problem in asking a Max light team into hard mode like he did because he figured the light lvl ( gear and such that "you" base peoples skill on) would make up for his.so by your own statement , you've disproved your other statement that you ( or anyone with that high of a light lvl) , is in fact skilled.
-
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear.
This one statement alone shows how much of an elitist you truly are.. If you're basing a person skills purely based on their gear says a lot about your perception of other Destiny players. And if 5 318+ guardians could not adjust for having the 309 in their group, then that goes along way in showing their skill levels. Elitism is a problem in Destiny and you're a part of it.
-
Chuckles at people below 310 are not skilled. Ran a 300 warlock up to the sisters with my raid team. Best part was we killed the war priest in 2 cycles.
-
You're an elitist, I'm an elitist, the j my people who aren't are the ones who sent good enough to be. I say -blam!- them. Git gud
-
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear.
Uhm. That's actually an exceptionally elitist way of thinking.
-
All these 315+ posts and I'm 314
-
The video clearly shows another teammate down, as for the guy in question -people have off days, and this is irrelivent of if they are above or below 310 light
-
100 bucks you got carried at his light level too. Hypocritical bitch.
-
If 5 315+ can't do warpriest/golgoroth (challenge mode aside, although depends on when death occurs) then your team need a reality check.
-
Lol me and my buddies carried out 285 friends through hard mode, his first time and we got to sisters. 5 318+? You all just suck major balls at the game and couldn't carry the slack. But gear does not in any shape or form equal skill. Someone can run the raid once and get super lucky with all 320 drops, doesn't make you good. Makes you lucky.
