Recently i was called an elitist when doing a raid with an lfg team. When forming the team we had 5 318+ guardians and one of them suggested his lowly 309 friend to fill the last spot. Myself and another teammate showed our displeasure in having a low light character join us as we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not.
Against our better judgement we let this player in. After 5 attempts on warpriest with the same 309 dying we finally passed it any moved on to golgoroth. There this player died alot. And then when i asked why are you dying all the time to him and that maybe you should raise your level to 315+ before doing a hard raid he snapped back at me you are an elitist.
I dont know why he called me an elitist. Maybe it was because i was staying alive and he was dying alot. Then he said that those requirements arent needed to beat hard mode and that is elitism because i have a higher light than him.
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear. Its not my fault that he isnt skilled enoughto get to 315+.

Edit: we were wiping after the guy in the video missed grabbing the gaze causing most of the team to get wrecked.

The whole raid can be completed with 5 people easily. I think in your case maybe you and your team just sucks and you obviously got carried to your 318
-
Considering the first time i beat oryx i was 307 the light level thing isnt entirely true but it does factor in raid experience somewhat since you can really get carried in this raid
-
318+ skilled? HAHAHAHAHAHAH yah cuz you do a raid that is always the same unless you decide to do the challenge for the week. So much skill
-
If amongst your 318 friends you guys couldn't help this other guy stay alive, you have terrible team awareness and terrible leadership. There should be no reason why your low light level friend should be put in real danger. At 318 your weapons should be destroying anything that gets near you.
-
I basically read as far as "Myself and another teammate showed our displeasure in having a low light character join us as we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not.". I automatically labeled you an a.s.shole. Show some love and help others out. Who gives a shit if they're lower light level. Everyone deserves the same experience you did
-
If you judge someone based on their light level before giving them a chance, that's elitism. But you let him in and then saw he sucked, so that's fine.
Also, you are complaining about five attempts at WP? Patience is a good virtue to have. Raids were never meant to be your quick and easy loot.
I'll admit that I'm a raid elitist. I only PvE and raiding is the only thing i do. I also only have a few hours every morning to get it done so I look for the highest light groups and quit if they suck. My only deaths come from jumping areas and wiping due to idiots. Was with a 318+ group on golgoroth...was patient for awhile. After the 8th wipe or so I blew them up with the exploding light and bounced.
-
Lol Destiny problems. Sounds like a bucket of fun, really.
-
I don't care what your light is, just stay the -blam!- alive. That being said, it's usually the 310 that causes you to wipe over and over and over and over until you smash your remote and turn off the Xbox.
-
Only the community make people believe they're elite. Only idiots think everyone under 310 sucks. Maybe he made a new character? Maybe he does suck? Point is, in both instances, you're still a schmuck.
-
Everyone should know by now that one death on any part of the hard raid causes issues. Some small some big. If you can't stay alive then get out and gear up on normal. 318+ isn't necessarily luck either. With drops as shitty as they are it shows that the person grinded the crap out of the raid and probably, not always, but probably is more experienced than lesser people.
-
And btw if your FireTeam couldn't 5 man the WarPriest with 5-318's then he wasn't the problem. You all were horrible.... Just sayin
-
if all of u are 318+ and you can't carry someone by now, then sorry, but you're the one that sucks
-
Edited by Senty: 1/20/2016 11:53:05 PM1. You are an elitist 2. If it took you several attempts for war priest, I bet that the 309 would have left you. I bet a 299 would have left you. If all of you were 318+, you should have been able to complete without any issues even if someone on your team was light 100. CUNT And, in your video, 4 of you were already dead. P.S. A good person would have at least said he was an elitist rather than denying it.
-
5 wipes on war priest??? Unacceptable
-
If you cant carry a 310 person with everyone else being 318 and up. Then eltitism is not the word i would use as a description. I have carried sub 300 players when the max light level was 315 on one player. Everyone else was 313 and 314.
-
100% bs i rarely do the raid because its a waste of rime. For that reason my light is low. Its the quickest and easiest way to get a higher light. I refuse to to play the raid so my light isnt high. But when did as a 306 light on hard mode i died the least out of my team and they were all above 310. Still didnt beat it. Havent done it since. But that is a false statement thier are good players that can hold thier own below 310.
-
If you can't beat those 2 fight down 1 person then you 5 318+ players are pretty bad. Just sayin...
-
Light shows how lucky you are, not how good you are. This is probably bait but still.
-
Idk dude. When the raid first come out I and my fire team got to oryx the first day and beat him the next. Hard mode came out and we beat it again the first day. Then challenge mode and we beat all 3 challenges each week. I know the raid like the back of my hand but its boring and I stopped doing the raid and focused on leveling my PvP gear. When I do a raid I'm usually 314 or 315 cause I infuse a lot of gear for PvP so your gonna tell me cause I'm not 318+ I'm not "skilled" when I know every part of the raid? Please....try doin the raid when there weren't any guides that break down EVERYTHING.
-
OP IS FGT
-
As a 309 I fear doing hard mode because of people thinking I'd be bad
-
Not sure iffff......
yep, definitely bait
-
You cant do the warpriest with one 308? How do you think people did it when it came out?
-
Op is a cunt
-
Bad bait....
