Recently i was called an elitist when doing a raid with an lfg team. When forming the team we had 5 318+ guardians and one of them suggested his lowly 309 friend to fill the last spot. Myself and another teammate showed our displeasure in having a low light character join us as we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not.
Against our better judgement we let this player in. After 5 attempts on warpriest with the same 309 dying we finally passed it any moved on to golgoroth. There this player died alot. And then when i asked why are you dying all the time to him and that maybe you should raise your level to 315+ before doing a hard raid he snapped back at me you are an elitist.
I dont know why he called me an elitist. Maybe it was because i was staying alive and he was dying alot. Then he said that those requirements arent needed to beat hard mode and that is elitism because i have a higher light than him.
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear. Its not my fault that he isnt skilled enoughto get to 315+.

Edit: we were wiping after the guy in the video missed grabbing the gaze causing most of the team to get wrecked.

Bait post. You can't really get a 315 light without hard mode. People also used to do it at 310ish.
-
You have a 320 taikonaut helmet El o El You're not elitist, just stupid
-
Thanks for showing everyone you're an asshole. So much easier to instantly mute you. I bet you're short IRL. MUTED.

Edited by ham: 1/21/2016 2:16:23 PMDamn if with 5 318 you cannot do war priest you guys have issues.
-
Saw the same video on another post....
-
I wouldn't say that just because they're below 310 they are automatically unskilled, that's just completely wrong. But if he really was dying that much then yeah, he needed to raise his light. IMO elitists are only people that leave a raid team because you couldn't beat Oryx flawlessly on the first attempt. Those poeple piss me the hell off
-
People below 310 are not bad at the game. I can say that from my own experience.
-
Lmao, that video was great
-
He died twice. Cool story.
-
5 attempts with 5 318+?! Ya bro so much skill. :/ smh
at minimum for war priest hard you 1 high light black spindle and a good aura holder. Everyone else just needs to know where to go and shoot. Easy peezy lemon squezy
Needed to add that edit? Lel

The low light level guy was right you're an elitist. the only thing light level shows is how many times a week you have been siting Infront of your tv with your dew and doritos doing a raid with terrible drops.

Edited by Lupinskey: 1/21/2016 10:11:53 AMLight level doesn't equal skill. People pay money to get carried ffs. Also you are an elitist. "We know that 318+ are skilled and -310 are not"...my raid team took me as a 304 and my friend at 305 as a Titan, and we beat the whole hard mode. Mind you this 304 warlock at that moment was also holding left side by himself during Warpriest. -blam!- off with your -310 not skilled horseshit, you just keep playing with scrubs. Furthermore the fact you can't even 3 man Warpriest is sad, especially with a team of 5 318+...so many times people fail and I hold my own just fine but once again this does nothing but prove my point. Light level doesn't equal skill.
-
So what does this say about the video? The guy just got stuck? His controller went out? I mean you can clearly see the dude just sitting there
-
Haha 5 attempts on war priest with 5 318's!! Even with you have 5 people in the team there is no excuse for that. My team beat him the other day with 5 as one of our 314 players died. You must suck ass
-
One of the downsides of lfg sites is you encounter a lot of assholes.....and you, my little Desticle.....are definitely an asshole.
-
Op your just a dumbass and you kind of are an elitist not everyone is great at destiny and not everyone gets the mechanics of the raids and the shit wasn't designed to be beaten in the first try. If you have to make comments like that to someone who is lower light and just cannot spend some time helping someone get some gear you are an elitist prick and should just go play in a street see what your 318 gets you there.
-
That entire raid can be 5 man completed. Even with the golgoroth challenge, he just has to die before the first gaze is taken. If 5 318's couldn't carry a lower light level through the raid. Then you guys are sh*t. Dead serious!

Playing with incompetent players its shady leads to elitism. I've played with plenty of competent low light players, and incompetent high light players. I try not to judge until we run a little and we can see where the issues are. Typically lower light players are more trainable, due to the fact that they have less experiences and are more eager to learn. Experience does not necessarily mean ability or skill. Light comes with experience and competitions. Due to the fact that rewards are limited to one run a week, that means that light may not directly reflect the players completions or abilities in the raid. I usually run through with my bro and normal group on Tuesday on Xbox 1, then run through with randoms and lower light players through the week on my 360 to help teach strategy and lend a hand. I find it funny how there is much more elitism on 360 than the 1. Typically due to the average age of the player on the 1 being higher from my experience. Players on the 1 usually buy their console. On 360 it's probably from their parents...

My team wasn't over 316 and beat the warpriest first try, me being 308. Beat Oryx with 316 players and me being 311. So if you can't beat it with 5 318 your team isn't that good
-
-
So what youre saying is 5 318s couldnt help the 309 out? Yet players like myself had no problem doing 3 hard raids day 1 with full teams under 312? Pathetic how awful this community is.
-
I love elitists I'm an elitist myself
-
Carried a 304 in hard mode, yes he died a lot but if you have a good team just 5 man it.
-
I'm a 317.. had no problem bringing clanmates who were all 305-310 besides one 316 all the way to Oryx the other day, we all skipped out on Oryx because it was late and original plan was to just get through Warpriest challenge before reset
-
The whole raid can be completed with 5 people easily. I think in your case maybe you and your team just sucks and you obviously got carried to your 318
