It wasn't Bungie who ruined the game. The original meta was pretty cool, no bs, no drama. And then along came the shitty community. We want this. Remove that. Nerf this nerf that. You need to point the fingers at yourselves for allowing it.

Edited by JHarv: 1/21/2016 5:41:05 AMPretty sure Bungie doesn't make changes based on a few user opinions. They analyze data, see where things are at, and change what needs to be changed based on data points on charts and numbers in spreadsheets. People who complain about weapons, notice weapons are a statistical anomaly, which may happen to be supported by Bungie's data, and that's when you see a change.

So true! -blam!-ing Crucibabies!
-
The only thing worthy of a nerf IMO was the original Vex Mythoclast. When used properly, one could kill an entire team without reloading. That's monstrous. If it were around today, Crucible would be littered with Mythoclasts.

Did we?

Is the game ruined? If anything TTK did some good things with Destiny, but at the same time TTK has a shorter life span than the previous expansions. The first time watching the TTK opening cinematic was great and walking through the destroyed cabal base like it was silent hill was fun. The first time. Going and walking out on that antenna, and then just shrugging off the lighting like a BA to become a stormcaller was great. The first time through Kings Fall was fun, and same for hard mode. All of the one time events in TTK were better than they were in Year 1. However, that said i think most would agree that the set of weapons for year 2 is just less satisfying than the weapons in year one. I also think most would agree that not only needing to get a boot or a helm as a drop but also needing to get it as the right light level was a mistake. So the stuff you can only do once was much better, but the sustainable stuff that keeps people playing week after week was not as good. If my friend's list is any indication most of the level-headed people are just playing other stuff right now. Hopefully they return when there is new content.

Bungie should have never listened and we should have never complained about weapons. What we should have asked for was a more balanced map system so you could use any weapon on any map. Snipers vs Snipers, shotguns vs shotguns, everything else in between and the map allowed for it all to be relevant! The game data screwed the game, the P2P screwed the game, the vagueness of updates screwed the game, the not asked for changes screwed the game. We played it anyway. Hell, I still play it. All in all, everyone contributed to this mess.

First real post I've read in a long while!
-
Ugh thank you... finally an intellectual
-
Yep. Also vanilla vex and suros were completely balanced.
-
How Iv never asked for a nerf the base game was amazing all it needed was a pulse buff think about it
-
I would agree with the community killing destiny. But it's more about the attitude of the players, when dealing with other players. IMO Telling a casual player to "get gud" doesn't help anyone. Judging people by their k/d doesn't help anyone. There are people who play this game for fun, not just as a competitive shooter. Be helpful, find someone that you can teach the raid to. Play friendly, be friendly. That'll help the entire community, more than just putting new players down.
-
I think people forget what the original meta was like. Mythoclast absolutly destroyed. The only reason it's wasn't complained about more was because not many people had it. Once everyone had it, it would be the only gun you could use, apart from maybe suros regime. Also what about fusion rifles? Everyone hated them.
-
I agree bungie makes all changes based on feedback and the vast majority of this community are cry babies who whine for a nerf anytime a superior player kills them multiple times with a certain gun
-
I didn't do anything
-
Nerf this bungie!!!
-
I beg to differ
-
Your seriously telling me you were fine wit a vex mythoclast at THAT power level? TBH, I think the pulse rifle meta was actually best. Sure as hell better than the one we have now? -The guy with no house.
-
Winner
-
Sooooooooo true. Bungle has been trying to do whatever the crybabies want.
-
The dev team ruined it with every new dlc. I never seen such a firm grip on someone's Ballz...Bungie Ballhangin' mofo.
-
they don't change the game because some 12 year old said so lmao they look at data. 1000kys will be nerfed soon because of how much it's being used, not because of you whining on the forums.
-
Activision ruined the game
-
I'm with you but there's always people "wanting that" "remove this" etc
-
I can always win at tic-tac-toe.
-
Agreed
-
Well they could learn the middle road and not go to extremes with either Nerfing far too much or buffing far too much. It's a little of both.
