My name is dieselneverburns and I am trying to start a YouTube channel. I started this channel as a stress reliever, just me talking into my microphone and playing games I like. I've made several videos but have only posted two because well
I need advice
I linked my only commentary on my channel in hopes of constructive criticism.
What tips could you give to a new YouTuber, from one gamer or YouTuber to another? I do understand that my audio quality is TERRIBLE and I'm working on fixing it with a new microphone and better recording area.
What things do you think I could do to make myself more appealing? I enjoy games such as bo3, destiny, BLOODBORNE, borderlands, Fo4 ,etc...
I have been told I have a randomly spontaneous personality, talking a lot very quickly, in sentences with bad jokes that don't make much sense.
I'm not trying to get famous on here, I just like YouTube as a hobby and would like to see ways I could improve upon it. For anyone who sees this post, which you probably skipped, what should I do ?

Make something thoughtful and niched. Just don't be a copycat and you'll either succeed or you won't. Either way it's hard to get far on YouTube and it takes a long time, and a lot of work.

Just talk about life, the universe, and anything that's particularly interesting to you!
-
Be relaxed and please don't turn into a person that just yells into the mic! ;)

Holy crap thank you all for the support I didn't expect this to receive this much attention I'm having lots of fun writing this post game script I've taken all criticism and am trying to shape my next video much better than my last one

My tips would be to open a video of yours, look at the "related videos" and watch videos from other YouTubers with small view counts. Judge their videos and figure out what you don't like about their videos. Then watch your videos and see if you do anything similar. The idea is to make your videos the way you want to. Just do you, and you'll stand out a bit more for it and be more likable. However, it's good to look to see what others do that you don't like so you can avoid doing those things. For example, videos that have no purpose. Give your opinions, explain things to others, make people laugh, tell stories, share creations, whatever. What purpose is there in watching a video of someone playing Destiny and talking about it? Try playing Destiny and telling an interesting story about something that's occurred in your personal life. Tell your viewers how you feel about something like a game as a whole, or a DLC, or a new fad. Explain how to effectively do a certain technique or how to talk to people or whatever else. Share your personal favorite fan art or something. Plain commentary is boring. People want to either be entertained through simple comedy or they want to leave with more knowledge than before, whether that be of you and your life, your opinions, some unusual facts, or some helpful tips. But I'm tired right now, so I might not know what I'm talking about.

Edited by iMarkus: 1/16/2016 12:29:02 PMTip: don't do what the big youtubers do. for example: don't do xur location videos. Do stuff that's unique. I'm going to sub and help you in the future.

Find the best channels and talk shit about them. Explain how they suck, why they suck and who they're sucking.
-
Step one: Get a better name Step two: hop off the band wagon and play other games other than destiny Step three:never play destiny Step four: refer to step three
-
Tip: Don't advertise here.
-
Do something unique that you enjoy

The biggest problem is that there is no answer to success for this field. SO my advice isn't a guarantee but here goes: 1: get more comfortable with your commentary, try talking to yourself outside of recording. 2: Talk louder, unless your new mic fixes this.

Stop while you are ahead of your self. I don't mean to be negative about it but wait until you have proper equipment and than try
