Glass Needles worth it?

Last night I was fortunate to get the ATS/8 Tarantella, but it came with the carry more ammo for Auto Rifles and Sidearms. While I've been using a Havoc Pigeon of late, I'm just not a fan of the AR - mostly due to their current state, and so I was wonder if it was worth buying a pack of glass needles an take a "chance" on rolling some different.. It's currently equipped on my Hunter if anyone cares to take a look and offer any advice. Edit# 1: Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the consensus is that it's worth it. I'll give a few tries and if I don't like what I end up with, at least I'll have something to infuse my current Vermilion Stripe to get it past 300.. If I ever want to give the Tarantella another shot, I can always buy it from the kiosk.

  • Did it chance the Arc thingy on it? Or does it stay on there because its an arc exotic?

    • My Bones of eao came with sidearm and machine gun ammo, now I got the perfect sniper/rockets roll thing going on. Stats also increased a bit too. Worth

    • My Tarentella used to have 82 Strength. Now it has 112 Intellect, due to Glass Needles. Worth it in my opinion.

    • It s worth it. I used it for my alpha lupi ( i think I spelled it right) to change the amount of sniper ammo I can hold.

    • Yeah why not. For example if i have helm of inmost light and the perk is for increased armor using a void class the perk is useless.

    • It is worth it, if you like the exotic perk the armor has. Getting your "perfect roll" may take quite a few glass needles, so buy a few sets of them.

    • The more perks you want in one piece of armor, the more expensive it may get. Example: say you just want Intellect on your chest piece and nothing else matters. You'll probably get it without a lot of rolls. Or maybe you want a chest pierce with Intellect, Discipline, Sniper Ammo and Arc armor boost. That's 5 slots of RNG. You might be rolling forever.

    • Yes. I wouldn't have gotten a pair of Ahamkara Grasps with Int/Str and Sniper reload without them. Also got a pair of Ruin Wings with Int/Dis and Machine Gun loader.

    • It's worth. I re rolled my twilight garrison for intellect/discipline instead of strength. Just might take a couple tries to get what you want.

    • They're expensive as pure gold. Are they worth it? Are you using that particular exotic gear very often or always? Could you be more effective if it had the stats and perk combination you desire? Then, maybe yes.

      • you can look up an armor piece and see what is possible for rolls with them there are a few that can't get intellect and discipline or some that have a chance to get only one stat buff like only discipline but over all if you plan to use it then yeah glass needles can help a lot

        • They're a bit expensive including cost of materials but I believe its worth it. Rerolled all my exotics for desired stats and weapons ammo perks.

        • Depends if you have the material to use. Each time use use a glass needle you use up 10 armor materials. I know it may not seem like much but it can add up if you keep trying to re-roll to get the perks you want. Example: one time I got what I wanted in two rolls. Another time I went thru 300 armor material and still never got the roll I wanted. It might be cheaper to check the armor kiosk and see what perks are on the blueprint. Now that the helmet has dropped for you, you can buy it with glimmer and one shard. Good luck.
