Red bull clash course event

On September 15th 2015 Red bull started a tournament called "red bull clash course" It was a collegiate gaming tournament where guardians across the US would compete against each other to see who could finish the new strikes, released with the taken king expansion, the fastest. There was a total of 64 qualifier matches and the qualifiers ended on December 20th 2015. there was 64 winning teams that were divided by region with 16 teams per region. 2 of the fastest teams from each region would be chosen to make the 8 winning teams to be flown out by red bull and compete in the national tournament in Santa Monica, California on January 23rd 2016. On January 13th 2016 the 8 teams were finally announced 24 days after the last qualifier round. This whole event wasn't hyped like it should of been and red bull esports was completely silent about anything and everything pertaining this event. I'm happy for the teams that won but I just can't help my emotions! red bull has not shared any information about which strike they used to calculate the winners, and i honestly feel like they never will. Everyone i see who is talking about this event was told that the saber strike was the determining time and if that's true then my team never had a chance cause the red bull people in Dallas only recorded the sunless cell strike and if the shield bros was the determining time then we were -blam!-ed all together cause my team didn't even run that strike. the lack of information that red bull has provided is lousy. Some people say that they used hand stop watches to track the times instead of the in game timer and i believe that cause the Dallas event had hand stop watches as well but they recorded the time from the in game timer. other people are saying that they started the timer when the fire teams entered the darkness zones instead of when they enter the world from the loading screen. i also believe that cause at the Dallas event they asked me when the timer should start and i told them the honest answer. Did you compete in this event? if you did could you share your times and your experiences like when did they start the timer? what strike did your qualifier record as the "winning" time? did they use a hand stop watch or use the in game timer? I'm just posting this to see what other guardians experienced and to stir the pot a little and create some buzz cause I feel like red bull should tell us which strike they used to calculate the winners. My experience\story time
NOTE: this might be long. I found out about this event because Planet destiny made a YouTube video about it, but there wasn't any kind of buzz for this event anywhere else and after that video they never talked about it again. My team ended up competing in the Dallas qualifier for fun and we ended up winning. I had a really great time but you could see just how uncoordinated and thrown together this event was. My team got the the event an hour early. we signed in and were told that we can login to the consoles and practice the strikes or just play crucible or something. we logged into the ps4s and found out that one ps4 didn't have the taken king expansion on it and another didn't have patch 2.0 downloaded. we immediately told someone who was setting things up and they tried to fix the problem. now the weird thing was these ps4s were used at previous qualifiers so I have no clue how these things were deleted off the console. None of the red bull people who were working the event knew how to work a console so one team ended up bringing their ps4s so the event could continue on time. There was a total of 3 teams for the ps4 and only 1 guy for the xbox 1. I felt so bad cause he didn't have a chance to compete. My team was the 1st team up and we started with the fallen S.A.B.E.R strike we completed it with 7 minutes and 54 seconds. since there was only 3 teams we ended up skipping the shield brothers strike and went strait to the final round: the sunless cell. The event coordinator asked me. . a contestant. . if we should skip the shield brothers strike or not of course I said yes cause 1. i didn't seem necessary and 2. the team we were going up against were sweaty the other team went 1st this time and finished with with 7 mins and 31 seconds. since we were last we got to see their strategy and we ran through it. we beat them with a time of 6 mins and 58 secs. we were so -blam!-ing happy cause we didn't even expect to win cause we didn't practice what so ever. we won a $100 code to get a custom battle beaver controller and a big ass case of red bull.
