Is there any point in getting past RANK 5 with the Gun Smith?

"increase gunsmith reputation to earn better weapons" is what I read. I am now RANK 10 with the Gun Smith and nothing new has happened since reaching Rank 5. Is there any point running Banshee's test weapons every week?

Packages I'm rank 14 I've gotten two great guns with God rolls so I keep doing them maybe if I get to 25 and there is nothing I'll stop
