"I strongly prefer the breadth of arsenal options, the potential of finding a better Legendary than you have to being stuck because of a damage color."

If we did have elemental burn on primaries, who really feels they would currently be "stuck" with their current weapon simply because of the type elemental burn given? I know I would still use my 320 Hung Jury for the first part of Kings Fall, and finish it off with my Touch of Malice regardless of a hypothetical burn. If we did get an elemental burn on a primary, as far as the raid is concerned, all this would really do is allow us to break an overshield on a Taken Centurion or a Hive Wizard a little faster. This leads to asking myself, how can an elemental burn on a primary be so game-breaking in the eyes of Luke Smith? It really doesn't make sense.
Removing the elemental burn on primaries and removing re-forging took away the appeal for grinding to acquire new weapons.

I used fatbringer because it was a goddamn beast but the elemental burn it had was NOT what made it. Void shield? Fatebringer it. Solar shield? FATEBRINGER IT. What's scary is that Luke still doesn't understand what made VoG weapons great.
