...and I was the ONLY person on my team going for B. I finished the game with:
-a 2.2 kd
-one 10-kill streak
-one 5-kill streak
-SIX captures
And we STILL lost (just barely).
Guess how many captures my teammates had? All of them except one guy only had ONE! The flag we spawn at!
Bungie, you can't force people to play the objective, but here's what you can do:
-Increase the amount of points gained from capturing an objective.
-Increase the amount of points gained from getting kills while you control zones.
Make a DRASTIC increase to the amount of points you get when you have 2 flags, versus just 1. Maybe then people will actually play CONTROL instead of Clash.
Sincerely,
A crippled Guardian (The carry is real.)
Edit: As several people have pointed out, many players don't care about the objective because there is no incentive to win. Since rewards are completely random, winning doesn't matter. First place means nothing, so many people feel like there is no reason to try.

I agree with the edit. One of the major reasons I don't like Destiny PvP isn't the lag, the same weapon, the OHK's... none of that matters. It's just that it's all so... pointless. Run around, shoot, kill, die, respawn. That's not much of a carrot for me. It works for some guys, and that's okay, but I can't get into it. I guess I also hate the hyper-aggressive disrespectful types that make a large part of the population, but that's the same in PvP everywhere. It's the nature of the beast. Put some cool drops in there, or real progression... now you're talking. Make it worth learning. Give it a real goal. I could tolerate Iron Banner because of this. Tiered rewards at least gave me a reason to keep playing. Regular Crucible is just mind-numbing.
