I just don't understand the opposition. If you don't want to utilize it, don't. Maybe it's far more difficult than I imagine, but I'd be surprised. I just know that I heard similar arguments from DICE regarding various element of BF. Seems like there has to be a middle ground solution. But this ain't working for a lot of folks.

Once again, if there's a broken mechanic that works in the game for a very small percentage of the player base, but leaves a negative impact on far more players, I doubt you would want it in the game. So you join solo que for Raid matchmaking in this perfect world of yours. You get 5 randoms. The Raid is most likely a wipe if the following happens. Here are your odds: -1/5 players aren't using a microphone(not saying it's impossible to complete the raid silently, but to this date I have yet to kill oryx with a mute. -1/5 players doesn't speak your language -1/5 players aren't going to AFK and expect to be carried -1/5 players aren't trolling -1/5 players doesn't know what they're doing -1/5 players sucks at communication -1/5 players never disconnects If any of these things happen, your raid is a wipe. A new player who is genuinely interested in raiding might try out your idea and the bad taste will make them walk away forever. Raiding is kinda the flashy endgame for Destiny and a large portion of our community buys the expansions for it. But if you added this matchmaking, It could potentially ruin Destiny's endgame content for far more players than it would help. -

You make excellent points. But something needs to change if they want more people to complete the raids. Perhaps it's not match making as in Crucible, but an LFG system within the game, making it easier to grab people than combing through third party apps and websites.

I'm on your side as far as wanting more people to finish the raid is concerned. Definitely. But I want an easy to use teamfinder that does its best to filter out players who aren't serious about raiding. Raiding should be Very Difficult on average and geared more for the hardcore player. I think Bungie should try to find a common ground between Strikes and Raids to help ease casual players into the raid community. As it is now, the effort of going to LFG already filters out serious players and those who want to Raid bad enough do which I think is why most hardcore players don't mind the lack of matchmaking. But before that can happen, Matchmaking in strikes needs to be fixed. Gotta walk before you can run.
