Finished a match in trials a few days ago. I would constantly get people to within an inch of their lives, only to have them finished off by a teammate. I got unsung hero very early on in that match and I continued to get assists all the way through, without a single kill. I wouldn't normally mind this as the victory would mean being one step closer to the lighthouse.
What I don't appreciate is the other people in the match criticising me afterwards and then ditching me, saying I wasn't even trying.
Yeah, I didn't get any of the finishing shots, but I still contributed. Don't you -blam!-ing dare walk out on me after stealing all my kills.
My point being, if assists were shown at the end of the match, it could've been avoided.

Always wondered why not

At the end of the game they do show assists.
-
Then finish your kills.

What's the point, the thing with assists especially if you are constantly getting a lot proves a couple of things: A) you are using the wrong weapon for the range B) you have shit aiming skills or C) you are a body shotter when you know you should be head shotting for the crits
-
Aim for the head and get the kills, yeah it happens to everyone but if your a bodyshotter then your going to have even more issues.

It's not a score game type so assists don't matter and therefore don't need to be shown.
