So I was thinking about the whole feminist thing after watching some video on YouTube, and I can't help but think, "Is chivalry no longer a thing?"
Now let me get this straight, I'm not about hitting or abusing women, but then again no one should be getting beat up or anything. I feel as if a lot of guys nowadays might believe that all these women who want to be treated like guys and act like guys are a bit contradictory because they act like they're another guy but fall apart when the reaction they get isn't how women used to be treated.
So my question is that do you think that feminists are killing chivalry by wanting to be so equal to men?

Vikings are cooler anyways

Feminism killed chivalry

People don't let it happen anymore. True blue chivalry is just helping people. Yesterday some chick is spinning her tires trying to get out of the parking lot. I ask if she needs some help and that I'll push her car out no problem. She instead gets out and says that's alright I'll just call my boyfriend and he can help me. Me- it's not a big problem it will only take a second are you sure? She proceeded to call her boyfriend and make him drive over to push her car out. Chivalry can't happen if you don't let it happen.

I feel as ive chivalry has been more replaced by common manners (or lack of in some)
-
Nope. It's just everyone would rather snapchat "I'M CHEATING ON MY GIRL!!!" to get likes then be loyal. Hey ladies. I can't even begin to understand why a boy, not a man, would cheat. Stop dating assholes. They're all the same. You can't change him by being his "side hoe." That only encourages him more. USE YOUR FREAKING BRAIN!
I think I ranted a bit. Sorry.
Dun worry m'lady it is I, Sir Fagalot the White Knight, and I've brought me mighty lance.

Edited by savage coco: 1/12/2016 2:00:30 PMWanna read something ridiculous, read this article. http://aplus.com/a/23-behaviors-of-a-gentleman-for-2015?c=6897&utm_campaign=i102&utm_source=a6353
A gentleman rises when she enters the room.
That one gets me every time, it's so ridiculous. Just by reading this you can see that most woman have the impression that there entitled to special treatment because of their gender. I respect people based on who they are, not because they happen to be born with a vagina. I have never and will never expect a guy or anyone for that matter, to do any of these silly things. I'm a grown woman, I'm pretty sure I can handle opening a door or dressing myself for cold weather. And my feelings definitely won't be hurt if someone doesn't say please or thank you, I wonder how often woman ever think about doing any of these things Chivalry isn't dead, guys just learned not to respect women that don't deserve it & I'm glad. Respect is earned, not automatically given out to everyone

The loss of chivalry was the trade off in the gain of women's rights
joke
Nah, I play the game almost every day. Still has a lively community.

Chivalry isn't dead. I hold doors open for people. I treat them with respect, offer them my seat and offer a hand when someone needs it. Doesn't matter if they are male or female though.

I still open doors
and slap asses
I know it's still around in part. I had a teacher a few years ago who wouldn't let any of the guys come in until all of the "ladies" were seated. I went on a trip to DC with her and ~40 other classmates and the guys had to carry all of the girls' luggage, hold the door for them, etc.

Edited by The Fallen Zyzz: 1/12/2016 1:47:17 PMChivalry has been dead for a long time. No point being a Knight when all the maidens are gone.
Seriously, though, it's been dead for centuries.

With sword or with pistol, I will defend the lady's honour! *tips*
Edited by The Dark Hadou: 1/12/2016 5:20:57 PMActual chivalry has been dead for centuries. Only fedora wearing neckbeards call having good manners "chivalry" (having good manners is still going strong BTW) and they only think feminists killed it because they have to have some explanation as to why girls still don't smile them even when they've held a door open for them.
-
*puts on an antic disposition* It's not dead yet. Many people like myself were raised to hold the door for women etc. Of course I hold the door open for everyone, but I'm less likely to cut in front of, or ignore, a woman than a man when I'm in a hurry etc.
-
I challenge them to trial by single combat!
-
Its ridiculous really, you hold the door for someone and get beat with a sandal and get called a sexist pig
-
I don't really care for it. My girlfriend and I treat each other as equals. We both hold the door for each other, we both pay for meals when we go out, and we both respect each other

Chivalry is dead!
And women killed it...
Edited by Recon Number 54: 1/11/2016 1:41:15 PMIt is (IMO) "dead" in the fact that both its initial purpose (to give violent medieval men a code of conduct to keep from killing innocents at whim) and its later inference that it was a way for "proper gentlemen to behave when it came to the more fair and weaker sex" are no longer socially relevant or necessary. I believe that the modern standards of common courtesy and mutual respect for the dignity of others has taken its place and doesn't require gender roles in order to be beneficial to everyone involved.

I am a gentleman, sir
living proof
