I agree, but considering the limitations with the current Destiny engine and the game built to be supported on the old generation systems (360/ps3), that will never happen. They simply can't create complex or large enough scenarios or generate enough enemies at one time to allow for a real challenge for a party that large. The only thing that allows this complexity at the moment are the more complicated raid mechanics, which would be a nightmare to accomplish for the most part with randoms, especially if they had no way to communicate (mics).
Here's to hoping without the last gen holding them back when they make Destiny 2, that we have a much larger, and fully populated and living world. Imagine a land that has new surprises every time you turn the corner. That the world exists on its own time clock (say 2 hours for a game day), and if you went to certain locations at different times in the day (or night), different enemies/events would spawn.
Imagine roaming world bosses that have to be avoided by yourself, and could only be handled by six man (or larger) fire teams working to take them down. Imagine instead of just public events, you'd have 'planet events' where you had to control the flow of the enemy, protect territory, or maybe even just survive a certain amount of time (or all of the above). A war zone arena where you battle not only other guardians, but many AI enemies at the same time.
Do I really think Destiny 2 will have all of this? Nope... but I can dream, can't I? :)
