AFKing in STRIKES
Unlocked my quest for the New Monarchy Exotic class item on my Warlock yesterday. Ran my 10 strikes in Heroic and I noticed something. Almost every strike had someone AFK and grab rewards at the end. Some guys were trying to be clever and would scoot forward, shoot, then hide once we engaged the enemy. Heroic strikes aren't ball-busting, but running them with only 2 as opposed to a full team can be painful.
The worst strike I had by far had a guardian named (had to remove name but will post vid tomorrow). If you see him in strikes, just leave. If you see him in crucible, own him. This piece of siht did nothing but tuck himself into corners and shoot only when we were looking. He was completely absent and hiding in a nook in the wall at the boss. Then when the boss died, guess what dropped?

I had as many assists as he had kills.(29, I had 139 kills at the end) And he gets the one gun I still haven't managed to get. Bungie, you need to do something to stop people from cruising through strike playlists and reaping the rewards because this is stupid. And it's like this a for almost every strike I join.

2 RepliesOP sounds like a Trump supporter with this campaign of hate that is being spewed. People bought the game (some people like myself bought the game, the DLC, and then had to buy the game again because Bungie likes screwing people) and are entitled to play it as they wish.

Your dear AFKer won't notice more than likely and be sitting there with nothing being done. 2) Do strikes on the second half of the week. I guarantee you that 90% of the AFKers want [u]legendary marks[/u], boss drops, and quest completions. Do other things in the first half. Chip away at the raid. Daily story. Calcifieds. Etc

Most of the time theyre not actually afk. I was doing the psion heroic strike and one of the guys was afk the whole time. Me and the other guy wiped twice at the boss fight and when we were trying for a third time i noticed the guy who was afk moved his character back far from the entrance to the main fight area. I tried moving his character out into the fight but he ran into a corner and sat down. I reported him then left. Im not carrying someone through a strike because theyre too lazy to join the fight and then get rewards for doing nothing. After that I wont do any strikes.

Sonce most people going afk are in it to either go deathless, or now in this case for drops, i just kill them a whole bunch or push them into enemies, etc. After a while i just skip forward and kill myself so hes warped. Then when hes in a good respawn to die spot, ill leave the game if its been awhile. Im literally in no rush for anything so if he wants to afk ill put on show for him to see (if hes actually there) They dont deserve what im working for so im honna wreck their day.

There's a simple solution to the AFK problem. The player at the bottom of the rewards screen always gets zero rewards! Do this at every level of the game and players will be forced to play or quit this game. Simple solution.

I'll never go afk exept if I truly need it. And i'll usualy send a message to my teammates that i'll go afk for a certain amount of time ( Short ) or i'll just quit I it's a too long moment.

we had someone go afk [b]mid raid[/b] he was plate 1 as well so we ended up wiping cause oryx killed the runner.....

While it is annoying, you can beat every strike on your own if you're good enough. Also, most times you'll have one other teammate who will be helping either way. Don't worry about those people.

Well I think in general people think it's OK to afk in any activity. A lot of afking in pvp as well. And raids. A lot going afk and not saying anything. Doesn't matter if it's 1 or 5 minutes people should still say it. At least I replace people like that right away.

Had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. Did the Undying Mind and had a guy that shot when we looked at him. At the end of the strike BOOM. Imago Loop. Hell, I could be the other one in the strike that you were talking about. If so, cheers. (Also, -blam!- that guy.)

1 ReplyEdited by TACCOMGUY: 1/9/2016 9:54:34 PMYes, now that they added Vanguard Streak it incentivizes AFK's to stay in matching making and penalizes people who play by either forcing them to GTO and break their streak or forces them to take on the strike by themselves (and double or tripling the completion time). Same goes for Iron Banner, the rewards were so -blam!-ing hideous that players would hit rank 5 and then AFK match after match in hopes of a good drop in post game rewards... It doesn't matter how often or how many times you report them (or laggers), Bungie doesn't do shit about it because if they did their active player base would drop off significantly! So congrats Bungie, your player base is full of PVE/PVP AFK'ers, Red barring scrubs who purposely flood their network to give them a lag advantage, people who purposely drop/choke their MTU settings, people who brazenly lag switch and boast about it. During my time playing online using PSN before Destiny I may have collectively reported or blocked 40 people over 2-3 years, over the past year playing Destiny I've probably reported/block/submitted grief reports on over 200+ users and counting...

I always report them and leave. I've seen 3 AFKers get exotics after strikes, I'm not carrying anyone anymore. What really gets me is that they are actually there. They know Bungie changed things a bit to try and deter it. You used to get people just fire up the strike playlist then go away and come back before the inactivity boot, flick the stick then sod off again. Or rubber band it. But those who actually stay and don't help? Why the hell not! Play the game you cretins! Then you get those who start a strike and go farming instead. Don't encourage them, just report and leave.

1 ReplyTry when both of them go afk, you solo the entire strike, they come up as it ends with legendary drops, and you get blues. Or nightfalls, yet again... Helping people from the tower, both get legendaries and you get 12 strange coins (now this one I'm ok with in all of its entirety. Would rather take the chance at an exotic from 5 3oC)

Ah... so many AFK'ers iv'e killed using my sparrow in Y1 hahahaha. Still can't get the stains out! Wasn't hard since a lot of the strikes in Y1 allowed sparrow use in the beginning lolz.
