Ok so I've been looking for MMO RPG for my Xbox one for quite a while now. So I started looking into Elder scrolls Online because I've always been a huge Bethesda fan, but there is so much debate on it,some people love it and others despise it. I don't wanna just buy it without having some idea of what it's like cuz money is kinda hard for me to come by right now. Are there any players who could enlighten me? It would be much appreciated.

Now this may be a tricky way to describe a game but the best way I can describe it is most players were probably looking for an elder scrolls game with MMO elements attached. Now what The Elder Scrolls Online actually is would be a MMO using the world of elder scrolls as a template. Guess the best way I could sum it up is don't buy it if you are buying it as nothing but a fan of The Elder Scrolls games unless you are also a good fan of MMO games too. If you like both then have at it! I've been thinking of jumping back into the game myself.

Guild wars 2 it is free and the best game I ever played

Never winter is an mmo on Xbox one and it's free :|

It's a decent MMO with an Elder Scrolls skin. It's nothing spectacular, but it's also not bad. If you enjoy a good MMO, and don't want to pay monthly for it, I'd suggest getting it. However, if you don't mind paying monthly then I'd suggest FF 14. At the very least I'd say to rent it from Redbox and see f you like it or not. I've rented it a couple times now and have since decided to buy it.

Must have friends that will play it with you.
-
ESO has bad reviews because it is too much MMO for Elder Scroll fans and not enough MMO for MMO fans. I enjoyed it but only when playing with other people. As a solo game its not great so have friends that want to play it with you.
-
I wouldn't suggest getting it considering that it went back to being pay to play.
-
Only fun if you have friends who play and it probably isnt fun anymore because no one plays it anymore
-
It's fun, but not what you would expect. People expected something similar to Skyrim, but it's much more dumbed down. There are a shit ton of quests and a lot of area to explore, but everything is rather repetitive and not unique. However, it is a good experience in my opinion, but only if you don't walk in with high expectations. It's something good to play, but not something to love and cherish over all other games.

I will day pvp I'd hard because you'll probably get rekted by a VR16 nightblade, but if you get invested, it's definitely fun.

Edited by Patriot121: 1/8/2016 3:03:03 AMThe reason the game got a lot of flak is because everyone was expecting ESO to be Skyrim Online. What they got what an MMO like WoW that takes place in the Elder Scrolls universe. If you're buying the game as an MMO first and an Elder Scrolls game second you'll probably enjoy it. If you're buying the game as a way to play Skyrim with your friends you won't.

I loved it for about 2 months...then I hit the veteran ranks and it just became a boring grind. The grouping system is broken so if you don't have friends to play with you won't be doing dungeons. Also the pvp is...meh. There are a lot of plusses to the game but overall, I got bored with it pretty quick. Also, don't become a werewolf - they suck VAMPS FOR LIFE! =P
-
I haven't put much time into it yet. If you don't have friends who play it I'd say definitely know. Just don't. If you do then I don't wanna say it's super amazing but I can't say it's bad. It's fun and all but sometimes it gets boring. It might just be me though
-
It didn't really suck me in. The PvP is big but it's just a big area with the forts all copy pasted across it. It's not very exciting.
-
I'd about xbox, but since dec, it's been on sale on ps4 for like 24 for the base version. I bought at release and loved it. I didn't have any friends play with me but I still enjoyed it. When I played with people it was fun, but it's really pointless unless you're doing dungeuns. The stories are OK and usually revolve necromancers. I liked DC more the AD, I'm only like halfway through EP and I like it so far. I definitely think it's worth the buy, especially because once you buy you own forever.

DO NOT BUY I'll list some reasons for you: 1.) The gameplay is boring, go talk to this guy, kill some enemies, find some items, etc... Nothing is new 2.) The graphics are outdated, it looks like an MMO with an elder scrolls skin from the middle of the PS3/xb360 era 3.) It's a dying game, I never see anyone on my friends list play it anymore and never hear about it online
-
It is a game :)
-
Bought eso but none of my friends did. The grouping system SUCKS! I started playing Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn, and love it.
-
ESO is a good mmo if you've got the people to play it with and the hundreds of hours to commit to it.
-
I didn't get an ES vibe from ESO, just didn't feel the same to me.
-
It's an MMO. Lots of quests, lots of people running around, lots of grinding to do, and fancy stuff you can buy with real money. I've had a lot of fun with it and have really enjoyed playing it, but it is NOT Skyrim online. Not by a long stretch. People who go into ESO expecting that are going to be disappointed. That said it is still a fun game and one that I think is well worth playing.
been looking for MMO RPG for my Xbox one
How long did it take you to realise that MMO RPG's are only worth getting on PC?
-
NeverWinter, it's free to download.
-
People dislike it because it was made out to be more of a generic MMO than a proper Elder Scrolls multiplayer game. It plays nothing like the regular games.
-
It's way better if you have friends to play with
