Hello, I almost have three 320s now (two 320s and a 319) and I'm here to attempt to make a dent in the elitism on LFG sites by out-douching them all.
- You don't need six ToMs and BS's. I outdamage every BS user (I don't even use mine) because if you mess up with their head twitching all over the place, then I will outdps you. Just use any high impact sniper. Eirine with LITC and fast reload is awesome too. Six ToM's staggers oryx in a second where you have five seconds. What the hell do you need six for? I use a hand cannon and for fun a doctrine of passing as I SHERPA NEW PEOPLE without any ToM or BS.
- You don't need sunsinger, nightstalker, and defender. Take voidwalker. You clear the adds (which is the reason why people die). Stormcaller does the same thing but a lot better at the cost of fun (balance this pls in PvE). In fact, a single stormtrance when you hear "I got the relic" can solo kill every single add on your side of the oryx room and the opposite side (including knights) without ever losing shields. It's ridiculously OP there. Golden Gunners w/ celestial nighthawk can say "aite bro, you can't get your knight? you tell me where he at doe" and one-shot them generating three fat orbs as opposed to nightstalkers super small orbs. Or you can just one shot the vessel and make four massively fat orbs. Striker is useful because you can peregrine greave knee a knight in its fat head and do 3x shoulder charge damage PLUS the double modifier from headshot damage. While not as useful as a bubble for the new players to hide in, it's still the funnest and funniest thing to do (~33k damage).
- If you're truly experienced, then you can teach new people what to do in some sentences. For a long (because tips included + it's written) example, I'll pick the hardest part of the raid - Oryx fight.
Platform 1 is where Oryx smashes his fist, and then 2 is the next one in order, and 3 is the next one after 2 still in order.
When you jump on, an ogre will spawn next to you. The two people killing ogres will probably kill them, but still shoot it until it dies (kill it dead, Guardian) to help them out so they aren't late for the final ogre.
You will have the orb stealing knight spawn in the opposite corner of the room the same way the ogres spawned (head out from under the puddles). The back side of the room needs to be on the back-most edge of their platform to see their knight spawning (side closest to the entrance).
HERE'S WHERE PEOPLE GOOF UP (thanks YouTube "in-depth" guides for never explaining the root cause of death.)
Next to your knight, either TWO ACOLYTES spawn, OR TWO ACOLYTES + ONE CENTURION + ONE ACOLYTE EYE (the eye will already be spawned close to the middle pathway in the line of sight still.) If this happens, shoot the eye and THEN the knight. When the knight dies, there may be a centurion dart heading for you very slowly..just tap it and it dies and no more problems.
When you hear "I got the relic, get off" tell him to piss off if you're on 3rd platform and you haven't gotten your knight yet. Just wait until you get it. The only person that should "get off" is platform one as the game codes oryx to shoot at whoever is torn b/w dimensions (will NOT be the relic runner once he reaches the spark), so oryx will shoot right at whoever is on platform 1 most likely. Simple thing to do on 1 is to walk opposite of oryx onto the half ledge and you can continue to lollygag or help on the 4th ogre if you're in the position to do so (top left and bottom right). If you're on the top right and bottom left, you have the opportunity to help the opposite side w/ their knight and/or acolyte eye + centurions (since there's nothing else for you to do once your problems are clear).
Back to the guy who has the spark. He has the SPARK. NOT the brand. Don't run to the center and die. Jump onto the nearest daughter's platform and wait until he is actually AT the center. Up there, you will take no damage but from oryx (just side step his shit and jump to platform opposite to him. It's really easy).
After Oryx is staggered (feel free to jump to the half-ledge right in front of Oryx incase your weapon falls off due to range), kill the acolyte + acolyte eyes + centurions if any and have somebody call out "run TO bombs". You will run to the outer edge and THEN a countdown to step in will be done so they're detonated at the same time (because the kill-all flash's timer starts when the first is detonated).
I'm probably missing some slight tips, but I take all those subclasses and I haven't died where it was my fault in months.
I sherpa people 3x a week and give them this info and they say the raid is easy.
Once you're truly experienced, don't be surprised if you can solo kill most/all the adds no matter your subclass and kill 3-4 knights per cycle alone before everybody meets center/ up top.
Loosen the hell up Guardians. There isn't one set way to do the raid besides no knight (the most unpredictable, uncontrollable totally opposite of smart drift control strategy).
This is what I use and have developed into an unbeatable solo carry method over the months. I also found the 'golgoroth single bubble strat" the second day the normal raid came out came out (btw, you can shoot over his head if he is looking at you. You don't need him to be "turned" AND the pool lasts FIVE SECONDS LONGER than the gaze. Stop trying to do bubble takedown and gaze grab at the same second.)
Stop looking for high light when a 305-308 does it just fine. (Had a group yesterday laugh at a guy for being 308 trying to do golgoroth..was the only time I did a non-sherpa and Golgoroth is only 310 recommended light..lol)
Start learning the actual small details of the raid. (So then you can solo carry and be less of a douche on LFG).
Stop being an elitist who doesn't even know the raid his/herself.
And don't bother asking if I stream raids or anything, my internet is too bad and if you want to do it this week just PM me. Otherwise I'll just LFG find five & go. I don't have any special channel or whatever. I just sherpa alone. This is the one time I'm coming out and saying something because nobody else is.
If enough people actually care, I can rewrite everything in a coherent, easy-to-read, and organized matter. Was thinking as I was typing this.
