To us it has happenef the other way. From the platforms it easier to avoid the ship and have better vision to take down any left over knights. From middle it is very easy to be unlucky and have two or more acolyte eyes shooting at the titans (which is good for orbs but in that part i prefer bastion) and with tom health reduction those eyes and the captain orbs can kill a titan more easily. The only part that is easier from the middle is killing the vessel

I can see where that would be a problem. My 1 and 2 guys usually have enough time to kill the 2 acolytes that spawn in on both sides before they head center and by that time runner has grabbed relic and 3 knight is spawning in and is killed, then 3rd platform guy runs into the middle and has his tom reloaded to kill the remaining 4 acolytes. Titans then kill the remaining knight while every one else focuses on vessel and oryx. To each their own. Find a method that works and go with it I always say. Both ways work well.

It certainly is more effective that way if everyone plays their usual position bur if it is a new fireteam you need to try and play ir as safely as possible for everyone. Because not everyone is a dead shot or a great runner (although the ToM aim is extremely easy to use)

True. Lfg groups are hard to deal with somtimes

For the vessel the relic runner should be able to two swipe kill it with the solar swords special swing.
