Ive asked many of my friends and they say that theyd love to practice and play around in private matches. Does Bungie think it's a bad idea? If so, why? I think many people would like this.

I wish

They should make private matchmaking as rumble or control, disabling bounties/quest completions and lv/light lvl advantage.

I would love it. Look at my stats and you'll see that I don't do pvp because I can't stand it. I can't stand it because I'm no good at it. Playing with friends that could show me how to get better would help me enjoy regular crucible a lot more if I knew maps, gun types, where and when to use what weapon or super, etc., etc.

One of 2 things. Bungie is amateur Or they have no money to fund it
-
The game needs it, watched a tourney on twitch it was way more entertaining than COD. It has massive esport potential

I can imagine the original reason was gear ranking. They don't want us getting a new item, going into private, and boosting it up. Same goes for general XP, stats, etc. I mean, Bungie can't separate pvp and pve weapon stats, how could they possibly separate private vs public? Now that we can use motes, I can only guess the stats as said above is the main reason. That, and the introduction of private will devastate Crucible numbers. And we all know Bungie favors their precious Crucible over everything.

A private match system is one of the things the community is fairly certain Bungie is working on, even though nobody at Bungie has directly confirmed there will be private matches at any point in the game' lifetime. I would be hopeful for them to come around, though
