Some ideas I've been working on for a while: Dragonfly - Exotic Scout Rifle Description: "For the pyromaniac in you..." Visual: A Hakke scout rifle, looks really rugged and industrial with a lot of smoke coming out of it. Exotic Perk: Explosive Hazard - Chaining head shots has a chance to create a massive explosion (think Firefly, but the explosion is roughly nova bomb size) This is a scout rifle in the Vision of Confluence archetype so higher impact and slower rate of fire. It doesn't start with high stability but comes with perks that can boost either stability or range. It's more of a fun weapon than a really good weapon, but the Dragonfly explosion can clear a lot of ads. Advantages: Really fun to use because it takes everything we love about Firefly (explosions) and makes it better (bigger explosions). Also, it can clear a full room of ads or Guardians if you can chain those headshots. Disadvantages: It's not very competitive. Unless you're good at landing precision kills you're not going to see the exotic perk very often. Trojan Horse - Exotic Machine Gun Description: "It's not that they don't expect it, it's that they don't have time to expect anything." - Ajax the Endless Visual: A massive machine gun that looks similar to the Colussus' heavy slug thrower. The barrel is fitted with a horse heads that has fire coming out of it's eyes. Exotic Perk: Surprise Entrance - weapon fires oversized heavy slugs that over penetrate and stun any enemy they hit or land near. Unlockable Exotic Perk: Unseen Speed - doing damage speeds up the weapon's fire rate Or Unseen Force - doing damage increases the weapon's stability This is a very slow firing but heavy-hitting machine gun. The heavy slugs mean that it fires similar to a Centurion, so the projectiles arc and explode upon impact, making it a staggering machine. It's built all around just dealing a massive amount of damage and staggering everything. Advantages: Good for holding down choke points because it's just a constant stream of screen-shaking explosions. Great for staggering majors and wiping out big groups of ads. Disadvantages: Slow rate of fire and the travel time of slugs make this not always optimal for every situation. Can get shut down by a smart player in PvP and leaves you open to take a lot of damage in PvE. Angry Philosopher - Exotic Pulse Rifle Description: "My enemies seek to question my existence, I only understand their deaths." - Azrael the Haunted Visual: This weapon fires pure light, because it's built out of the shells of dead ghosts. The plating around the rifle looks like the plating on your average ghost and the projectiles glow and look pure white. It's quite shiny. Exotic Perk: Traveler's Patron - Kills have a chance to generate orbs of light. Picking up orbs of light gives boost to weapon's rate of fire and stability, stacks up to three times. Unlockable Exotic Perk: Last of the Light - Multi kills while Traveler's Patron perk is active have a chance to fully recharge any ability. This pulse rifle is in the Nirwen's Mercy archetype so it's medium rate of fire and a good amount of impact. It's built for PvE, specifically raids and strikes which is why it depends so much on orbs of light. The Last of the Light can recharge your Super but that is very rare and almost never procs, but the more kills you get with Traveler's Patron the more likely it is. Advantages: Even without perks just a good weapon. Ability to generate orbs makes you a real team player and helps you keep the orb cycle flowing for your allies and so you can get those weapon buffs regularly. Also, ability to recharge abilities is great for PvE and PvP, even though it needs multi-kills there's always a chance your super bar might suddenly go all the way up. Disadvantages: Relies on orbs of light to reach it's full potential and the second perk might just end up recharging your melee, which isn't that great. Moralltach - Exotic Snipe Rifle Description: "Confirm every kill, meet every challenge, you are the fury." - Cuhullin the Fallen Visual: The weapon is inspired by Celtic legends, so it's designed to look like a very long Celtic spear. The barrel is entwined with razor barbs and the whole weapon is covered in symbols and looks very ancient. Exotic Perk: Little Fury - While under fire this weapons range and stability greatly increase. Taking damage has a chance to return ammo to your mag. Unlockable Exotic Perk: Great Fury - Body shots with this weapon will cause your target to move slowly for a short time. This weapon is in the Praedyth's Revenge archetype but just a bit more balanced. It's meant to be pretty fast firing, not the kind of sniper you just sit back and shoot for hours with; it's for the active, mobile snipers. Advantages: Great for mobile sniping in PvP. If you're running around with your sniper you'll be taking a lot of damage and the first perk helps keep your reticle on your target even under fire and rewards risky plays with more ammo. The second perk is also great for that archetype because if you're running and gunning and miss that crucial headshot you have a second chance with a slowed target. Disadvantages: Outshined by higher impact snipers in PvE and can't rez-snipe. Relies on you to put yourself in danger to reap the rewards so won't be very useful for more methodical snipers who don't make body shots to begin with. That's all I've got right now, I have some exotic armor ideas too I might post later.
