Part I: Welcome to TalonCo.
The Party's ships arrive at the station, having met up earlier through radio, and accompanying each other to the designated area— after all, the suspicious nature of the measure calls for an extra hand. Four extra hands certainly didn't hurt.
You exit Hyper-Space and are met by the sight of a large, grey rock— obviously a moon. What's odd about this moon is that it's encircled by a thick, washer-like ring, which becomes thicker in height the closer to the center it gets. Along the outer edge, you witness several large rectangular plates— most of them are broken, and others seem to be absent, as if torn off. Only a single one seems to be functional as it continues to rotate its path along the edge.
Objective: Radio into the station and request access.
All participating members, please check in. Absent members may only check in late up to Part II.
Just FYI, you're not "in" any hangar, you're on a cargo platform on the outside of the station's hull.
Life seems to be present all across the base... Seems to be a hell of a lot of survivors for a possibly years-old distress call. Maybe everything was resolved? In any case, you can only hope somebody collects you soon.

Edited by SilverPulse620: 1/3/2016 3:06:03 AM*he waits impatiently in his fighter for a while. Eventually, he opens up the cockpit and looks around
-
There seems to be a thin atmosphere, enough so that you can breath. The platform you landed upon seems to be scuffed from use, but otherwise intact. An elevator for personnel and cargo is off in a corner, big enough to fit a party of 25, if squeezed together in an orderly fashion.
-
Edited by SilverPulse620: 1/3/2016 3:15:59 AM*after looking around, he consults Oppenheimer "What do you think would happen if I sent them the files they sent out?"-Silver "Unclear."-Oppenheimer *he sends the .EXE and .JPEG files that he received from the transmission to the ship's computer
-
The JPEG is instantly registered on a return line back to the ship. The EXE, however, opens... And you hear a voice coming from the computer. "You... I'll unlock the elevator. Time's ticking." The warnings playing through the speakers come to an abrupt halt, and a cheery woman plays through the comms, though it's obviously recorded. ///Hello, and welcome to TalonCo.'s Prima-5, home of the prestigious Europa project! Please step through your nearest entrance to the facility, and wait for a TalonCo. representative to assist you!///
-
*he walks out of his fighter and into the elevator. He links to the computer "What are you? Some kind of AI? If so, do you mind telling me why you sent out that transmission?"-Silver
-
Edited by Zone-tan: 1/3/2016 3:56:31 AM"Can't explain now, it'll attract the Worm. Get those hazmat suits from the glass room, and get that man away from the control panel before he kills us all. Then we talk!" The elevator goes down, and some cheery music begins playing. Before long, it comes to a halt, and the doors open. ///Welcome to TalonCo.'s Prima-5, Dr. ~bzzzzzt~! A representative will be with you shortly in order to give you a local tour. Regarding Station-Wide travel, please consult your local subway operator, or talk to one of our many friendly guides!/// The room you're in is arranged in a sort of window pattern: a large room with four smaller rooms located within. The elevator is located at the farthest left corner of the back wall, while the exit into the station is at the center of the front wall. The left wall has a door leading to... Somewhere. The windows are on lockdown mode and are covered by steel panes. The four rooms in the center each have one door— the ones to your left have their doors facing the left wall, and the ones to your right are facing the right wall. The room on the top right has walls of glass, and contains five hazmat suits behind locked doors opposite its entrance. On the left side is a strange metal desk, and on the right is a tool cart. All doors are unlocked, except for the upper left room, the left room farthest from you. Joshua is interacting with the glass room's desk. Johnny (Sonic) is searching rooms. Phantom is tinkering with the control panel for the single door on the left wall. He must be the "tinkerer" the AI was talking about. Objective: Investigate the room. OPTIONAL: Convince Phantom to leave the Control Panel.
You'll have to interact with him on his thread to distract him.
-
*he decides to put on a hazmat suit over his armor, and then walks to the locked door "Why is this the only locked door?"-Silver "I've got a bad feeling about this."-Oppenheimer "You have a bad feeling about everything."-Silver *he scans behind the door
-
The Hazmat suit door is locked, and too tight fitting to fit over armor, but the armor's individual plates might be able to fit over it. The locked cubicle door has a keypad next to it. No sign of the code.
The door Phantom is tinkering with is also locked...
-
*Silver decides to activate his armor's hazmat shield instead "How long until the shield core overheats?"-Silver "Approximately 30 minutes."-Oppenheimer *Silver then attempts to type in codes into the keypad and open it
-
You quickly become bored as you hit 113, and decide to go looking for clues.
Every once in a while I'll roll a 20-sided die to assess the situation. You needed a 20 to get it right. You rolled a 6.
-
Ok...I guess.
*as he searches, he starts to get a small headache "Are you ok? Your brainwaves were erratic for a moment there. Perhaps you needed more time to recover..."-Oppenheimer "I'm fine. Just a little dizzy is all."-Silver *he continues to look at the door, searching for a way to break it down or hack the control panel
-
The door is sturdy, and doesn't look like it'll budge. The panel looks like it might've been an option at one point, but whoever sealed the room up was thorough about it— the screws are melted into place.
-
"Looks like somebody really didn't want anything to get in...or out."-Oppenheimer "This is going nowhere fast. Let's move on."-Silver *he starts to open the other doors that weren't locked, checking what is behind them
-
The offices come with standard amenities— a bed and footlocker to your left with a shelf above it, a strange metal desk along the far wall, and lockers along the right wall.
-
*he looks at the area, then attempts to open the lockers "Are you sure that is wise? What if the owner..."-Oppenheimer "Do you see anyone here? No one will know."-Silver
-
Left or right office?
-
Left.
-
Lucky guess. Right would've killed you.
There's a double-ended USB port, along with a plastic bar the size of a large cassette tape. The tape has a USB port in the side.
-
Edited by SilverPulse620: 1/3/2016 11:47:39 PM*he looks at the tape with interest "Who uses these anymore?"-Silver *he plugs the cord into the tape and then into his helmet to watch
-
It's a text file, labeled [READ ME].
-
Edited by SilverPulse620: 1/4/2016 12:00:20 AM*Silver looks at it curiously, but decides to read it anyway "Couldn't hurt to read it."-Silver *he reads the file
-
[Tool cart, ninth drawer down]
-
*he opens the drawer and takes the toolkit out "Okay. Now what?"-Silver
-
There's no toolkit— only another tape.
Just so we're on the same page: Tool cart is in the glass room, eighteen drawers total.
