[i] Lance stands up, wrapping her in a hug, a warm and friendly, protective embrace.[/i] "Anumi, if i could take back some of the things I've done, I would too. But I can't, and neither can you. You can't dwell on the past, because it'll rip you from the inside out." [i] Lance grimaces at that statement, considering that's exactly what he was doing earlier.[/i] "You've got to live in the present Anumi, not your memories." [i] He says into her ear, his arms around her.[/i]

[b]She doesn't return the embrace. Her skin feels cold and tense. Her words become spiked.[/b] [i][u]"I wish I could forget... Move on. But my past is already catching up to me. There's no use in trying, not if just comes back around."[/u][/i]

"What do you mean it's catching up to you?" [i] He asks, looking her in her eyes.[/i]

[i][u]"They're coming back. One of them got on aboard... It won't be the last."[/u][/i]

"Was that what took Lucien?"

[i][u]"No. Lucien was taken by Damien's enemy. Doesn't matter though... We are fighting a losing war."[/u][/i]

"Yeah..I've been on the wrong side of those too many times." [i]He lets her go, sitting back down on the bed.[/i] "Have you talked to Damien about this?"

[u][i]"He knows..."[/i][/u] [b]Her eyes seem strained and hurt.[/b] [i][u]"He tries to remind of the good things... But I can't see many, not anymore... His kind words only make me feel worse."[/u][/i]

[i] Lance lays his hand on top of hers, a reassuring gesture.[/i] "There's only one person who can make everything okay in your mind Anumi."

[i][u]"Yes. I'm aware."[/u][/i] [b]She frowns, uneased by the contact.[/b]

"Well, two, but I won't do that." [i]He mumbles, standing up.[/i]

[b]She shrugs. Her silence says more than just words. Her face has turned stiff and bitter.[/b]

[spoiler]Damn, I was kinda hoping she'd comment on that.[/spoiler] [i]Lance runs a hand through his hair, conflicting mentally with himself.[/i]

[i][u]"I'm going to go train..."[/u][/i] [b]She pulls herself off the bed and heads to her bathroom. She re-enters the room a moment later in her standard purple skirt and shirt. Her rifle is strapped to her back.[/b]

"Do you wanna be alone?"

[b]She shrugs again, walking out the door.[/b]

[i] Lance sighs quietly, silently following.[/i]

[b]The training hall is virtually empty, except for a red haired woman in a mafia style get-up. She fires her Tommy gun blankly at targets, hitting and missing as she goes. Anumi dials up her own settings to 45/45. It's high and the targets are set for high speed, something a sniper just can't handle in 20 seconds.[/b]

[spoiler]oh, hey (: [/spoiler] [i] Lance leans against the wall and crosses his arms, watching.[/i]

[spoiler]Sorry... Chemo was brutal today.[/spoiler] [b]Instead of pulling out her sniper, Anumi slowly trots to the center. She stands in the center waiting for the simulation to start.[/b]

[spoiler]no worries, hope everything is okay.[/spoiler] [i]Lance continues to watch curiously.[/i]

[b]As the targets star appearing, Anumi slams a fist into the ground. All the targets present jitter then fall to pieces. She leaves a small crater where her fist has impacted. Hidden power. The machine doesn't even register the rest of the targets before giving a broken score of 948/45. The red-haired woman whistles in amazement.[/b] [i]"That's my girl..."[/i]

[i]Lance raises his eyebrows, but says nothing about it.[/i] "How good are you with a blade?"
