If we advance to the point where we can travel faster than light, would word of mouth actually be faster than radio, the Internet, or any other modern method of communication? What would that mean for the future?

The only thing faster than the speed of light is the expansion of the Universe itself. Did you know that the Universe will soon expand so quickly that light can never actually reach us because it'll die out or something before reaching us, and given billion or trillion years the only star or planets we'd be able to see is in our own Solar System?

Nope. We simply can't travel faster than light. If we use something like the Alcubierre drive we could make near instant trips and communications throughout the entire universe though.
