She shakes her head in quiet disbelief. Words are failing her.
-
He gently puts his right hand on her shoulder "Anumi"
-
It sends her overboard. The physical contact. A hand. She is still uncertain if the nightmare is gone. As reflex, fear induced, she grabs the hand and squeezes down. She is much stronger than she looks. It's extremely painful, almost crushingly powerful. She lets go only when the hand is pushed off her shoulder.
-
The arm disappears into a flutter of black nanites, and it reforms beside him, and he stands, holding it to her as if to help her up. "c'mon, you need to get up"
-
She doesn't accept it. But she does lift her head. Her face is vague but it's also saturated in cold nothingness.
-
The light behind him encompasses his body that you see in darkness, aside from the still outstretched hand. "Anumi"
-
She stands up on her own. But her movements aren't normal. They are rickety and look like a rusted doll trying to perform the correct movements. Her eyes are blank and stare at something simply not there. She stands still except for the gently sway that seems to occur from time to time.
-
He looks at her, suspicious and concerned, so he puts his right hand on the grip of his 1911, with an extended magazine due to the grip being double the width, and he puts his other hand out in front of him, yet still low, and he speaks with a tone that suggests he's peaceful. "Anumi, you okay?"
-
Her voice is almost metallic and vibrates with some strange force. "Yes." She turns and walks down the rest off the hangar and turns to head torwards the dorm.
-
He turns into a black swarm of flying nanites, and he goes up into the ventilation shaft, and follows from there
-
She makes her way to her room, enters her passcode, and enters. She closes the door behind her and lays down on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
-
He watches silently for 5 minutes, very suspicious, to ensure nothing happens
-
Nothing does. She just lays there, motionless and unblinking.
-
He eventually leaves, reforming outside the door and walking away, down the hall
