Anumi sits in the cafeteria eating her favorite food, small cupcakes. Lucien sits across from her but he just stares at her, blank and cold. She's gotten used to his lifeless look. It used to bother her, but at this point... She just doesn't have the luxury to care. Lucien turns his head to watch outside a viewport, watching the outside world move on without him.
"What are you thinking about...?"
"I hate this..."
"Hmmm...?"
"This banter. It's dumb as hell."
Lucien gets up, wraps himself in the jacket he brought along and walks to the hangar. But something stops him before he enters the large room. The silence. It's wretched and bizarre. This ship has plenty of noise, he knows that's for sure... But this is off... The silence is quickly interrupted by the rhythmic drum of footsteps. Lucien frowns and makes his way back to the cafeteria. He enters, only to find Anumi and her tray for food have long disappeared. He pulls a cigarette from his pocket he tries to light it, but the lighter just doesn't seem to make a flame.
"Guess I had to die some day..."
A hand rests on his shoulders...
Anumi walks past a few guards and taps on the door to Lucien's room. He went to the hangar three hours ago. No one had seen him since. She opens the door, knowing his passcode only to find the room empty. She was getting worried. Knowing him, he might just be walking around aimlessly... But... She had to know he was safe. She continues to walk down the halls and corridors of the ship, becoming desperate in her search for Lucien. She follows his last trace to the hangar. It's empty... Not just of him... But of all people. A silence soaks into the room as the gentle ring of stomping echoes in the ship. Unsure of what's happening, she continues down the hangar, picking up speed. The sound grows ever closer no matter how fast she goes. It doesn't take long before it is deafening. It sounds like the footsteps are right behind but when she turns to look, she finds nothing. Panicking, she screams out.
"Leave me alone!"
She stops and covers her ears and closes her eyes, trying to block out the horrifying marching surrounding her. And just as sudden as it starts, it ends. She opens her eyes to find security workers looking at her with distressed faces. She falls to her knees and tears begin to fill her eyes as a horrific realization hits her.
He had found her.

The Hunter stands a few feet away, looking at her. He stares for a few seconds, then finally walks over. "Anumi, what's wrong?"
-
The guards give him a strange look. They weren't used to Atea, though they didn't know Anumi was one. "Sir, stand back." "We are handling the situation."
-
"Bud, you're talking to the most dangerous bounty hunter in the multiverse. I suggest you don't get in my way."
-
"Sir, this woman is hysterical... We can handle this... Please be patient." The other guard pulls a sedative needle from his pocket and crouches next to Anumi, trying one last time to get her to stand up and cooperate.
-
"Don't sedate her. I can help. I'm a friend. You guys don't know what's wrong. I think I might."
-
A medical officer steps forward. His face is down-trodden. "We just ran a bio-scan, sir. I think you may want to grab a seat..."
-
"I'd rather stand."

Edited by Chesh I Guess: 12/31/2015 2:19:29 AMThe doctor shrugs. "It appears she has heavy brain hemorrhaging. She is currently disabled but... It won't get better... She doesn't have good odds. Maybe only nine hours left in that body. Brains don't usually explode like that..."
-
"God dammit! Ugh... I might be able to help... Or I know someone who might be able to. Can you keep her stable?"
-
The doctor strokes his low cut beard. A slight flash beams across his eyes... Was it a flash of yellow...? "I think I may be able to handle this... No need to worry... I have all the required fundamentals to bring her to and equilibrium." The doctor picks up Anumi and gives a curt nod to the Hunter.
-
"Thank you... If you can't handle it... Ask for a man named Anthony Tress. He has something that can help anything..."
-
"I have my unparalleled ways and illusory practicality..." He carries Anumi off towards the med bay.

The Hunter follows.

The doc takes her inside one of the many rooms of the medical bay. He grunts and sets her on one of the beds. "I'll run tests on her, then get prepped for extensive surgery... You are relieved to go elsewhere..."
-
"But I'm not going to." Raidriar walks in, he'd been tailing The Hunter. Raidriar: "C'mon Trill. I know who this is. If he wants you to leave, leave."
-
The doctor eyes the tall man but says no more. "This will take but a moment... She has plenty of friends who will want to say hello when she awakens. I'll make sure you are on of the first to find out..."
-
The Hunter: "If Drew over there says ya can do it, I know you can. Thank ya, Doctor."
-
The doctor gives a quick nod and shuts the door, leaving him and his team to their task.
-
Raidriar leaves while The Hunter sits down in a nearby chair and waits.
