1 ReplyThe only things I even really like about castle are the pre-established power grid and the minutemen occupying it constantly. Other than that it's pretty much just my dump settlement for money making purposes. I prefer starlight drive in and sanctuary overall. I also quite like hangmans alley, though it's a bit small.

5 RepliesJamaica Plain. Very easy to close off to only one entrance for easy protection. And lots of room for enough crops to supply a full settlement.

Spectacle island m8. So much ROOM. Use the castle if you're new to building settlements. It's like a template. Then, when you're a bit more experienced, move to a more open and blank area like spectacle island or starlight drive-in to do what you want

If you build your main base there you can be locked into completing the game a certain way. So therefore not the best. The Slog is my pool bar/main settlement.. The infrastructure is all there plus it's an all in one. You can place the water purifiers in the pool, there's farm plots already there (replace the fence with pickets). Plenty of space to put turrets on top of the existing building plus a long large space to build a homestead attached to the pool building for beds) . Take out their hideous ghouls and send them to County Crossing to work on the farms and then send all your best looking settlers and companions for nude pool hangs and cold beers served by Buddy. Built a shopping centre/skyscraper at Spectacle Island called "The Isle". It's looking fresh but settlers are too glitchy and tend to disappear often. Jaws must be snacking on them.

Don't know why but I really like Coastal Cottage. Makes me mad no place to put a water purifier. Great waterfront view though. [spoiler]Deathclaw to north and Mirelurk Queen to South no joke though.[/spoiler]

I like the location, facing the sea and all. Been building a dianond city knock-off town there.

Spectacle island is the largest settlement with literally several thousand wood worth of trees and a garage, a wrecked house, a beach, and cliff area. Its extremely good if you have the time to build it up

On console, it has one of the smallest build limits. So you constantly need to exploit the build limit glitch.

Egret tours marina. Lots of space to build crops, new buildings, walls and defenses and what not. And it also is based on a river with a boathouse that has space and lots of mini rooms and bridges.
