Lucas wakes on the ground. his heart pounds in his chest and his breaths are deep. he can hear the air being sucked through the hole in his face to fill his lungs and feed his blood. above him he sees leaves, and lots of them. beams of light cut through them casting rays through the humid air like showers of gold. the air is thick and moist but still breathable.
the last thing Lucas remembers was his dropship spinning out of control toward the planets surface. a group of bandits had managed to acquire AA weapons capable of targeting a cloaked dropship. obviously someone had sold it to them. the people of this planet don't have sufficient technology to build something like that. he would have to talk to the brass to find some answers, but that is not the task at hand.
the group that shot down the dropship would likely be heading this way, and they would definitely be armed. Lucas sat up and winced. a piece of shrapnel must have nicked his side after he was thrown from the ship. he looked around and all the green began to fade away. the dropship, or atleast what's left of it, lay behind him. flames licked the sides and smoke rose through the trees. in the cockpit a man can be seen slouching over the controls. the mans right arm is no where in sight. the ground Lucas lies on is devoid of life. dirt and rock are the only features below him.
after looking past the wreckage around him, Lucas could see the green returning to the world. the jungle was thick around him, which may come to his advantage. the gawking could wait though. the bandits were getting closer by the minute and Lucas couldn't wait any longer.
"let's get to work."
