if there was not a deadline , all the canned stuff makes me think how epic it could have been it still was an awesome game in the end.

No. Halo 2 was my favorite game of the series, so I'm glad it came out exactly the way it did. If they would have had more time, then maybe some things would have been different and I wouldn't have liked it as much. It spent 2 years as the #1 game on Xbox Live, so they must have done something right.
-
Part of Halo 2's glory came because it was rushed. It's hard to explain but discovering and mastering every bug and glitch made its one of the most fun and unique online multiplayer that I've ever played. I wouldn't change a thing.

Halo 2 is my favourite halo closly followed by halo 4 (I know, I liked it tho)

Bungie said it themselves: if they had an unlimited amount of time, it was going to be a disaster either way given how they kept messing with everything or even starting some things over. Halo 2 might be an unpolished disaster... but it is one of the greatest unpolished mess ever created. And to the idiots defending sprint in "halo" 4 and 5: not all content gets cut due to a lack of time, content can be cut if it doesn't work or it hurts the core gameplay.
-
Prolly would have had sprint in it. Since it was suppose to be in the game, but they didn't have time to rework some of the maps to work with it.
-
I think there would be less bîtching now at least knowing Bungie wanted to add sprint to it I think if it had been introduced as a player base ability that early on then there would be less moaners about it now.

Halo 2 was still my favorite campaign

Might have gotten more explanation on the Gravemind, and it certainly wouldn't have ended on a cliff hanger ending.
