Okay, so a lot of people like to complain about how weapons are OP. A lot of times, people are wrong, however once in a while they are correct. However, you're not going to get balance in Destiny, the same way you do in CoD or Halo. Destiny is a loot based game, so the loot has to be worth grinding for.
Now, let me bounce an idea off of you guys: Let's compare MIDA Multi-Tool, and Thorn.
You might be reading this and scratching your head. You might even be ready to tell me off, or ridicule me, but hang on a second and hear me out. I want to compare the exotic perks, along with an additional perk, on MIDA and Thorn, and then ask you a question.
Thorn: Final Round, and Mark of the Devourer. These perks are straight power output, and don't offer much in terms of flexibility in playstyle, because the combination of these two perks completely changes the flow of the game. It forces gameplay to slow down, and quite frankly I have never seen a weapon do this quite the way Thorn does.
MIDA Multi-Tool: Lightweight, and MIDA Multi-Tool. Now, these perks are not exactly exciting, when you compare to a powerhouse like Thorn. However, think about what the MIDA does for you, in terms of those perks. They're more passive, yes, but they're far more dependent on your personal skill to be effective. That movement speed boost will do next to nothing for you, if you don't have map/spawn knowledge, or if you just sit in a corner and camp with a Scout Rifle.
Now, that being said, here's my question: Why do we not have more weapons, specifically more exotic weapons, like the MIDA? Weapons that actually complement different playstyles and encourage a higher skill cap, rather than forcing people to play a certain way?
At the moment, I cannot think of a single example of a weapon, that emphasizes skill the way MIDA does. Its effectiveness is ENTIRELY dependent on your ability to play the game: Reading the radar, knowing how to move, picking your fights, knowing when to fight or flee... Why do we not have more weapons like this!?

I understand why you want more MIDA style exotics, but I'm not sure how they could add more weapons that complement play styles like MIDA does. If you could give me an example, that'd be great. I'd probably be able to give a better, valid opinion on the topic. But now, I really can't give a good opinion on the overall topic.
