"Dona... Roe..." a whisper, a voice entered the head of an Awoken woman warlock.
"I.. hear you.. Ahamkara Z'yuul." Dona sat and meditated in her dark and quiet room while her ghost was exploring.
"Do.. you except?" asked the voice.
"What will I receive from this, Ahamkara Z'yuul?"
"I can grant you unlimited power, and all I ask in return is a feast, oh wielder mine."
"You will give me the soul of your dead child for me to feed. How will this benefit me?" Dona clenched her hand.
"The soul will be in a cocoon, a weapon. The weapon kills, my child feeds, you grow strong, oh wielder mine." with that, the voice left.
Dona's eyes opened wide. Her mind switched from anxiety of talking to a worm god, to anticipation. What power was she about to receive?!
Dona got up and walked to the light switch close to the door. She flipped it. All the lights in the room came on for a second before shorting out. "Ahh, dang it." Dona looked around. "Screw driver, screw driver, screw driver. Bingo!"
She unscrewed the cover for the switch. Dona pointed her index finger, taking inventory on the different wires. Instead of actually correcting the situation, she channeled just a small voltage from her finger. With that the lights came back on.
"Yay. Who needs to be an electrician when you are a Stormcaller?" Dona placed her hands on her hips.
Dona unlocked the door and opened it. Guldrean, the Awoken man on the other side of the door, had to strain his arm to keep from hitting Dona in an attempt to knock on the door. "Whoa, that was close. I came to see if you would care to join me for a walk around the Ishtar Cliffs." Guldrean gave a smile.
Dona stood there, mouth wide open. "...Hi..." Dona found Guldrean very attractive but wasn't cool under 'preasure'.
Guldrean gave a chuckle. "Hey. Soo, is that a yes?"
Dona, still in a stare, snapped out of it. "What? Oh! Yes, I would love to."
"Great. Well, Amanda is preparing my ship. I'll tell her to bring yours up as well."
"...okay..." Dona went back into a stare.
Guldrean walked away, leaving Dona holding the door open.
Bill, Dona's ghost, finally returned ten minutes later. He flew into the room over Dona's shoulder. He plopped down on the couch and looked to the warlock. "So, how've you been?.... Dona?.... Hey!" Bill sighed. He gave a whistle just an octave below a dog whistle.
Dona covered her ears and hunched over! When Bill stopped whistling, Dona stood straight and looked to him. Her ears were still ringing. "Owww!!"
"How've you been?"
"Great until thirty seconds ago!"
"What happened thirty seconds ago?"
"You..."
"Right. So, what do we got planned for today?"
"Ishtar Cliffs."
"Ishtar? Wait... trance-state stare + Ishtar = Guldrean. Am I right?"
"Yes, and we're leaving... now!" Dona ran out the door!
"Sadly, I just got back from Venus..." Bill followed Dona to the hanger.
"Oh, good. I thought you changed your mind." Guldrean put the bag, that he just pulled out, back into the ship.
"Yeah. Bill was holding me up." Dona put on her helmet.
Bill looked to her in disbelief. "My bad. It's all my fault."
Dona got in her ship and took off minutes after Guldrean. They flew through empty space, then entered warp drive.
"Just a heads up, I am tracking a small mass entering Venus' atmosphere." Bill watched the scanner.
Their ships slowed down tremendously when they came close to Venus. Sure enough, a meteor crashed into Venus.
"What the h*** was that?!" shouted Guldrean as he narrowly dodged the object!
"...That was sooner than expected." Dona whispered under her breath. She nosed her ship towards the smoke trail.
Dona's ship dropped her just yards from the edge of the crater. She looked around at the architecture. "Where are we?"
"The Endless Steps..." answered Bill.
Soon, Guldrean dropped down as well. He walked to the edge of the crater, beside Dona.
"Why did you steal a cosmonaut's helmet for?" asked Dona.
"What? This is the Taikonaut, an awesome helmet. So, what about the object that almost killed us?!" asked Guldrean.
