Some of those names you have in 90s carry over to 2k, but I agree that Slim Shady's name should be stuck to the 90s. Imo, he was at the height of his style in the 90s. He put out most of his best freestyles ever in those years.

Small list I built that includes MCs from both the 90s and 2ks, all of which are good
A-Butta https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZPgtF-t8Ao Aesop Rock
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-e-fEYrNrk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFe5-i0m5Jw
Nell
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXn8-kExigg
Benefit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbm5kp7pOfE
Juice (greatest freestyler on earth - the guy who beat eminem)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR2y8N5A0FY&list=PL7C09A7BE0DFF62F3&index=1
Slim Shady/Em https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkjlbhJkEWs "Burning incense, facing a murder sentence, under intense investigation for killing infants; while I sit in padded rooms doing shrooms, having visions of dead pregnant women with brooms jammed in they're wombs" omg Eyedea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40MA0pl7Oa0
Hex One (Arguably the greatest lyricist ever, period)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqXrCYjoqso
Dutchmassive
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4XopM40qCk
Of course, you can't have a list without MetalFace the great
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRAPuHIyTMY
All of Thryday
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJdgnz6_MF4
Umang
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tARb9HP7vvU
Robust
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS6ngrXHkWs
If you got Robust, then you gotta have Prolyphic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHYi81e9cFo

Is this seriously a debate? Sure, there are some good artists/bands post 2000, but it's not even close.

Edited by Aidan: 12/28/2015 10:50:49 AMI'm 13 and I hate mostly of the music from post 2K, I prefer Foo Fighters more than -blam!-ing Justin Bieber. Although coldplay is pretty good in my opinion.

It's called ukelele screamo and it's art

'Intellectual laziness and the hurry of the age have produced a craving for literary nips. The torpid brain has grown weak for sustained thought. There never was an age in which so many people were able to write badly' Sounds familiar? Does this ring a bell? Oh good, because this was written in 1891. 'There is a great tendency among the children today to rebel against restraint, not only that placed upon them by the will of the parent, but against any restraint or limitation of what they consider their rights... this fact has filled well minded people with great apprehensions for the future' Written in 1906 Source: http://xkcd.com/1227/ ( I had to hand write this crap out) I highly recommend checking out the Vsauce video on this topic, since that is put together infinitely better than anything I post here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD0x7ho_IYc

This is needed in this thread.

How can people be picking post 2k music? Just about everything post 2k is pure shit.
-
Last 3 sentences of the 90s list says it all
-
Seems like in post 2k there are less bands and more 'artists'. Yet many of those so called artists have amazing bands that do most of the work. Ultimate self glorification.

I can't see how 2k could win this in any way
-
Linkin Park most of the 90s is way more whinnier than this
-
>reads post 2k list >No Muse >You're an oxygen thief
-
I don't listen to any music from the 90's so post 2k for me
-
Where's tricky and massive attack on the 90's list??? Come oooooonn
-
Also you forgot Sonic Youth from the 90s
-
Lucky me, most of my favorite genres have been going strong for a few hundred years
-
Disturbed that is all
-
I'm pre-2000's because most modern music is cancer (except for a few songs).
-
Lol, a good amount of what I listen to is post 2k, but underground, and kind of 90s style Example: The Depreciation Guild A shoegaze band that has a 90s alternative feel, and uses the keyboard sounds of a fixed up NES.
-
Metal from both ;)

Love the police, coming straight from the playground.
