A nerf was needed for HoS, no one can deny that. But you went too far. The tank class isn't a tank in super. One GG shot now takes them down, whereas a striker takes two mid super. As does many of the other supers. Stormcaller moves so fast and has a buff that makes it tank two hammers. The class wearing cloth armor. Tanks two hammers. The splash damage, speed, and tracking are so low that hitting anything moving is a nightmare, whereas supers like novabomb and GG have huge splash damage or great aim assist.
Why not hit the other classes? We all know they have issues as well that have yet to be addressed. Especially warlocks with their melee range and power. Not to mention their super burn which should be addressed since Titans lost their only DoT ability.
If nothing else, make the armor/speed/recovery stats actually matter and make them accurately represent the armor that the class is wearing.

While we're on the subject of sunbreaker. How to do they compare to the striker and defender in PvE? Anyone have tips or perks that they use?

The difference is that the hammer of sol super is a ROAMING super. The striker while using fist of havoc takes 2 golden gun shot to die because he/she is popping a single all or nothing super. Not roaming the map flinging flaming hammers of death blindly cross map nuking everyone in sight while healing themselves and tracking enemies. Same goes for nova bomb. Roaming supers SHOULD have less armor/die faster because it's a low risk/high reward tactic. If you could use said flaming hammers AND eat golden gun shots like a champ, what hope does anyone have of taking you out? And anyway, post-patch hammer of sol is still extremely strong for the above mentioned reasons. Totally not gonna shed a tear because you guys can actually be stopped before you kill me 2-3 times with one super activation now.

What makes those reasonable is that those are talent selections. They come at the sacrifice of another useful talent. Sunbreaker's previously high armor came by default. That's why it was unbalanced in that way. About splash damage: You can't compare it to nova bomb or fist of havoc. That's like comparing auto rifles and launchers. They have completely different uses; HoS is for duration crowd control, nova bomb and FoH are for one-off area clearing. You can't really compare it to GG for the same reason. Their purposes are different. Golden gun is for ranged target clearing, hammer of sol is for close-up crowd control. Golden gun needs to be ranged, this it has aim-assist (while I do feel it could be dialed back a tad) and high accuracy. One shouldn't rely on tracking for hammers, because it is meant for close/mid range. Hammers are still as awesome as ever in pve. In pvp, I can still wreck with them.

I'm for the damage resistance reduction. It was needed. [spoiler]but striker now can tank a full GG shot with juggernaut even with GG over penetrate perk[/spoiler] Flameseeker is useless. It's literally non existent. It was already weak but the Passover is what kept me choosing it. It now has no passives. I've switched to Fleefire (which with MIDA is awesome). I don't use Forgemaster anymore. I believe it's detonating too early and causing issues with getting kills. So I've switched with Scorched Earth. The sunspots are getting me some results. Cauterize is still good. Striker now has a better neutral game than Sunbreaker. And if used wisely with Twilight Garrison or Death from Above perk, FoH is better than HoS.

The only thing I'm pissed about is the fact that there is little to no damage on the initial explosion from contact with the hammer with you have the solar flares equipped sometimes. Needs to be adjusted on that same with the freaking punch. No initial melee damage upon hit yet it uses your melee charge so no kills with it....

Stop crying. You want a super that gives you - ton of defense, multiple aoe tracking one shots, and heals? Yeah, warlocks of one super that also needs a solid nerf but you thinking SLIGHTLY nerfing your God mode was too much is stupid. Moron.

I say the nerf was understandable and necessary, the hammers still have an easier time with direct hits than any other super, Defender is supposed to be the tank, not Sunbreaker, most if not every super takes 2 shotgun shots or 1 shotgun melee and HoS can take 3 or 4. Hos still plays the tank and damage rolls better than anyone, if not in damage then mobility. If combined with immolation fists or twilight garrison and you are almost unstopable. Also it may be your perks messing you up as well. HoS is an OP mix with Arc blade, Nova bomb, and a WoD's armor or blessing of light.You get that and up to 8 hammers that track and can heal you almost instantly or make sunspots which can make you stronger if you want. No matter how you look at it, Hos is still the best or second best offensive super. You are complaining because you lost God mode and have been reduced to Demi-god. Learn not to rely on it so much.

My biggest problem is that three perks that were in no way over the top got over nerfed cause of falls allegations like "it's blast radius is like nova bomb". It wasn't even as big as a a rocket launcher. Now there is no way for a single hammer to kill two targets while Stormtrance and arc blade both have more attacks, faster attack rate, and AoE capable of killing up to 3 guardians.
