Youtube and Twitch Parasitic relationship with the Destiny Community

I keep seeing forum posts were people are asking for things that make complete sense to me. Like adding all year one gear to year two, which should of happened from the start of year two. Making all of the year one events (PoE, VoG, CE) relevant for year two in difficulty. I see no problems with either of those requests. The problems I do see is the resulting conundrum that results from the interaction of this game, and many others, and Youtubers and Twitch streamers. When they whore off of anything new Bungie can come up with they are going to support it because they technically have to. If they don't support it you think they are going to stop playing the game? No. That is how they make either all or part of their money. There is a HUGE problem with supporting everything Bungie does and being semi-dependent on what content they release. The problems are that they overhype things that should have happened long before they did and they have the biggest voices when it comes to the Destiny community. For example, Planet Destiny is suggesting that Bungie makes a challenge mode for VoG but only reward an emblem. That is complete useless shit that will not drive many people back to playing VoG. When you have the biggest voices in a community suggesting useless, minimal work things such as that, there is a problem. Bungie and Activision are companies. Companies are capable of big things. I am not suggesting they work tirelessly to entertain their consumers. I am saying that they should listen to overall player base instead of just the PvP players and the Hardcore players like the Youtubers and Twitch streamers. Give the people what they want! EDIT: I am concerned with mainstream Youtubers and Twitch streamers and anyone who has been flown to Seattle for free.
they should listen to overall player base instead of just the PvP players and the Hardcore players like the Youtubers and Twitch streamers. Give the people what they want!
The problem isnt Bungie listening to Youtubers and Streamers, the problem is, those Youtubers and Streamers will not say anything negative about Destiny, why? Cuz they getting paid, son. And if the channel isnt big enough to get paid, theres always the chance it will, and if you talk shit about the game, it will never yield profit. The Youtubers and Streamers and forum warriors all tell you this game is fine. Theyve single handedly kept this Dev. from feeling any real heat regarding any number of topics. Hell, i even saw Bungie STOLE Dattos raid mechanics idea for the TTK raid, straight up STOLE it. He made a vid about it, and didnt even get mad, he only asked for a tshirt, lol. Because he knew it wasnt worth it to lose the Youtube money he gets for holding up this turd of a game. Its people like him, that are responsible for this game becoming what it is. There have to be checks and balances on power people, if there is not, this is what you will see. Because, popularity and wealth will blind even the strongest of us. And the people who warned everyone what was in stake if you keep throwing money at Bungie? Were treated as second class citizens everywhere we go. Also beware of people who speak for Destiny, in THESE VERY FORUMS, who have accepted gifts from Bungie as well. All of these people add up to the problem youre getting at in your thread. Good on you for helping pull the curtains aside from the morally bankrupt people who helped this game achieve legendary status for consumer assrape
