So Bungie is infamous for missing the details. Well that's an understatement.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A LONG RANT. Feel free to comment, state an argument, or voice your opinion. Or simply don't read it, it was kind of one of those "Jerry Maguire" type memos that just kept going, so it won't bother me if you don't feel like reading this whole thing. But I do think some very valid points have been made. Does it bother anyone else that Bungie is infamous for being what most would call "lazy"? I mean we have this vast world created by Bungie's talented development team, with tons of treasures in the form of endgame content, eccentric exotic armor designs, and most importantly, a world where old friends gather and new ones join, all in an effort to combat the darkness. However within this world, guardians suffer from a lack of cosmetic attention to detail, and I won't even open the indecipherable can of worms that is the Destiny servers have become. I will just list what I feel is lacking in detail as far as cosmetics in Destiny go. Shaders One of my biggest pet peeves is the fact that the Radiant Dance Machines holo armor doesn't change with the armor shader. Why?!? What is the point of having something to completely change the color of my armor, when a piece of my armor won't change. Sure it's an exotic, and sure not many people consider it a good exotic, but it still totally defeats the purpose. I mean the Mask of The Third Man doesn't change whatsoever, and that's a widely used exotic. Even something as simple as changing the neon stripe along the middle of the Helm of Saint-14 or changing the color of the design on the Heart of the Praxic Fire. The most annoying part about class items is that there are currently no hunter cloaks, and few titan marks and warlock bonds that change with a guardian's shader, which when you're a hunter, not being able to customize your cloak kind of defeats the purpose. Ships and vehicles Next, I'm getting into ships. As a very well known Destiny player, My Name is Byf stated "You can how Bungie pieces together the ships, and various different parts that they use. Why isn't it possible to go to Amanda Holiday and say "Hey, I want to spend 10,000 Glimmer, give me a custom ship." and then chose your parts." Custom ships provide guardians with an immense amount of freedom in making a ship, knowing that there's a slim chance they'll find a ship matching there's. There could possibly be whole clans that use this in marking clan members or simply promoting themselves. And not only custom ships, how about the possibility of vehicle shaders or at least have the vehicles match a guardian's currently equipped shader. But instead, they've decided to sell the same sparrow with different paint jobs for REAL money, which doesn't appeal to most people. Foundries The foundries sounded awesome in theory, but are only present in identifying weapons from the respective foundry. Other than that, they're non-existent. Why don't the foundries have their own emissaries, with a selection of weapons belonging to their specific foundry, similar to the Crucible, Vanguard, and Faction vendors? Re-skinning Weapon re-skinning has been an issue since The Dark Below, and while there has been effort to change that, it still lingers in a what could be considered insulting fashion. The Imago Loop, a literal re-skin of the extremely coveted Fatebringer minus a simple color change. If Bungie was going to make a new weapon with the same exact frame as and older one that almost the entire community raves about, but make it worse, then why not bring the actual gun itself? I've dismantled Treads Upon Stars, a re-skin of the Vision of Confluence, every single time I've received it, and have never seen it used anywhere. And then we get to the Black Spindle. How do you launch a weapon into the game that is unfinished? The most recent patch, replaced the scope options for this sniper rifle with barrel upgrades instead because there were never any other scopes designed for it. Even if there were never meant to different scopes, why did it go into the game? And what about the Trials of Osiris armor? I really love the new Iron Banner armor, like it looks awesome. Why didn't the Trails armor get redone? I mean if Bungie want to keep in the theme of Egyptian themed armor, there could've been a set of Titan armor modeled after the Crocodile God, Sobek. A set of Warlock armor modeled after the Scorpion God, Serket. And a set of Hunter armor modeled after the Hawk God, Horus. Why did the Harrowed raid armor only get a color swap? They could've added a cosmetic effect like black flames or elongated spikes and points on the armor, because as soon as a shader is thrown onto the armor the difference between the normal raid armor and the hard raid armor becomes zero. Other Nonsensical Things Two words, Ethric Light. Why are we going to go a bring Petra our ethric light that we saved, just to gain reputation for something that no one cares about anymore? That doesn't make sense. Additionally, why is the main story of this entire game only found in the companion app, and some of the most interesting parts of this game are found only in written text? I mean I would love to meet the Iron Lords, Jaren Ward, and other legendary guardians in the game as NPCs. Does anyone understand what the point of the artifacts are? I've never found myself worried about what roll I have on mine and have also never noticed its perks ever appearing. Other than the boosts to stat roles, there are also not prevalent in PvP whatsoever. They're not even cosmetic in the slightest, they're just still pictures of items that look awesome if they were floating above the guardian's shoulder or put on a necklace around the guardian's neck in three dimensions. The same goes for ghosts as far as abilities and the fact that the can hold a guardian back when they're trying to reach max level, when they were totally fine as a cosmetic item. I'm glad there are different shells now, but they shouldn't have an effect on our light level. It just means we have one more item to almost never get at max defense from RNG, and make us grind the raid time and time again only to get one with close to max defense and never get one remotely close to that defense. I love this game, I'm playing it daily for bounties, exotics, working towards the max light level like most hardcore players, It's just that noticing these things that seem so simple to fix or include kind of make me feel like I'm not getting the full experience.
