The Thief
NYC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know, things don't always go well
As for Artemis, this meant that Europe has lost its touch, there wernet many contracts left over there, so she came to the Americas
She forced herself to learn English back in Europe before she left, to ensure she would atleast fit in to the bustling streets of America, but it was pointless to even go to America
Not many people where hiring...
She let out a sigh, sitting atop the Empire State Building as she took a bite from a sub sandwich she stole from a restaurant below, filled with meats and cheeses of all kinds, it was good
Looking out at the city, its boundless rooftops and peoples, she needed to learn the local areas, best areas to escape in, and what not
Let alone, who else was out here, maybe make a few friends, partners in crime
She sat there, eventually finishing the sandwich, tossing the remains off the side of the building as she sat on the edge, looking out at the city
What to do....
open, I guess
Intro time!
Sawyer watches her. "The city's beautiful from up here, ain't it?"
-
-
"Its a whole lot more quiet" As if to prove her point, a car horn is heard below, followed by a man yelling
-
Sawyer puts his eye to the glow sites of his barrel and clips the man's head with a .44, his brains splattering all over the windshield. "Such things are easily resolved."
-
"Well, that was uneccessary" She watches
-
Sawyer puts another round in the chamber of his revolver. "The more pity that fools may not speak wisely what wise men do foolishly."
-
"English, please, I'm not Shakespear"
-
*e
"I don't give two actual f*cks."
-
"Oh look, my -blam!-, there it goes!" Points to the sky, as if it was flying by
-
Sawyer chuckles. "Sarcasm. You've got the potential of a true New Yorker."
-
"Pays to be Irish, I can be sarcastic as -blam!- and still be serious"
-
"Well, that's what New York is all about. So, you're a detective?"
-
"Mercenary, thief, the usual gun for hire "
-
"But a detective, no?"
-
"No, not into that stuff"
-
"Oh."
-
She remains silent, not knowing what to say next
-
"Well, see ya. Nice meeting you." Sawyer starts to Mist away, but turns around. "I never caught your name."
-
"Artemis"
-
"Nice name. Mines Sawyer." He mists back to the base of the building.
End
She spots a figure in a brown duster and cowboy hat on a nearby skyscraper roof, 4 men with him. The men are in all black military fatigues, with green ski masks, green shin guards, arm bracers, and Kevlar vests, and have M4A1 carbines in hand, one with an L96A1 sniper rifle, and they run hastily among the rooftops
-
She watches them "What are you up to...."
-
They sweep and clear the 29th floor of an abandoned skyscraper, holding up in a room and fortifying it, the man in the duster grabbing a pair of binoculars from one of the soldiers, the one with a knife in a sheath on her chest, and he scouts the roads below
-
She continues to watch him, sitting up high on the Empire Building gave her a decent vantage point
