Firelord Exotic Machine Gun Solar "In the darkest nights they will sing of your flames. They will remember you." -Poems of the Endeavour Exotic Perk: Flame-fury: This weapon never needs reloading. It holds one large 175 magazine. The gun looks exactly like Thunderlord but with fiery streaks instead. High RoF, Low Impact, Small Range, Medium Stability. Getting the gun unlocks these two Grimoire cards. 1) The Poem of the Storm
Are you listening, grandson? I'll begin.Once, in a distant land, there lived a good King. He was a kind man, of the utmost virtue and goodness. Before he was made King by the urgings of the people, he was a physician, with a knowledge of ancient magicks. He was known to heal wounds with a touch and a thought, to stream light from his fingers into the sick and bring them from Death's door. He was the kindest soul known to man. But he was not infallible. Once, a wicked robber, from the nearest town, came looking for victims. He brought with him the first weapons the town had seen for a decade. By chance, he happened upon the King's wife in a market. Desperate for the chance to rob the wealthy woman, he attacked her, and in the struggle, the wife was slain. Upon the immediate realisation of her death, the King had the robber brought to him and condemned him to death! It was a harsh and violent solution, grandson. On the next day, the townsfolk watched the man being led to the scaffold. As the seconds ticked by, finally they saw the King arrive - and he held a pardon in his hand. The robber was set free, and the King held him, and whispered words into his ear. Words we have the briefest glimpses of. Of endings and eyes. Humbled, the robber left town to own up to his other crimes. When asked, "Why? Why did you let him go?", the King brought forth a weapon, forged in the hell of the previous night. It was his Vengeance, his electric emotions forged into a weapon so that his grief could not become revenge. And so the first Lord was crowned, the first legend whispered. Are you falling asleep yet, grandson? Yes, yes, it's all true...my father was there...no, no, tomorrow. The rest will be tomorrow.
2) The Poem of the Flames
Now, the rest....I have tried to remember it all..The King was unhappy. His wife was dead, and his magicks were fading. He could no longer heal like he used to. He grew old, and angry. In desperation, he sought new lands, new territories to ensure his sleepy villages survival, to protect the people he loved and served. A grand army was amassed, and the king himself besieged the nearby castle. After a month of furious attack, they broke through, slaughtering the army in front of them...until, the King stopped. In the rubble of a house he has seen a child, weeping, abandoned, much like his own son. Filled with regret, the King withdrew his armies and ran home, in shame, his fury gone. That night, the hell came again. Tortured by the image of the wailing child, fearful of his own rage, the King forged his emotional Fury into a second weapon. A gun of fire and anger. And so the second Lord was crowned, and the King was crippled. Time to sleep now, grandson. No, that's not the end, but it's getting late. Come now...we must all sleep sometime...
This is another weapon: Nightlord Exotic Void Machine Gun "We must all sleep sometime...the time when the dark conquers us" - Tales of the Long Night Exotic Perk: A Long Sleep: Enemies killed by this weapon chain Void blindness onto others nearby. Same as Thunderlord and Firelord, but with Void streaks and crackling. Low RoF, High Impact and Range, Low Stability. Getting it unlocks this last Grimoire card. 3) The Poem of the King
The good King was older still. But as life drew to a close, paradise was invaded by hell itself. The sky was ripped in half. Machines of brass came from the rupture, seeking the King and his decaying magicks. The King had nothing left to give to them. As they marched into the palace, smashing their way though all obstacles, they met no resistance. They captured the King and held him prisoner, attempting to extract his power from him. But nothing. The road had ended for the life of the King. There was no more he wanted, than to see his citizens safe. And in his dying breath, the King exhaled his magicks, and the machines were blinded by a bright light, a shield. The citizens took the opportunity and a mass evacuation took place, save for three. Two messengers, and the Kings own son. Revitalised by the machine incapacitation, the King spoke to the messengers. To the first he gave the first weapon, to be taken to the next town and given to the one who had lost the most. To the second, he gave the second weapon, to be taken to another town and given to the man with the greatest army. However, the second messenger questioned him, asking, "Why have you done this? You could save yourself. This may be your only chance!" The King clapped a weathered hand on his shoulder and said, "These...these are reminders. That even the best of men are susceptible. That the emotions overpower us. I have placed myself into these weapons, as part of my legacy, my everlasting reminder to the universe. I stay here, because someone must be sung about. The tales must be told, and there must be someone to tell about. Remember me." At this the messenger was filled with tears, and upon departure, told his King that he would, and in his darkest hours he would sing of the fire that raged behind the King's eyes. And so they left, to spread the word, to begin the story. The King turned to his son, and gave him one last gift. The third Lord was crowned. He said, with tears, "This, son, is my kindness. Forged in my love, and my resolve that my story will be told. Keep it safe, for your descendants. My light is not meant for this time. One day, it will seek others, and only then will my weapons activate. When all the Lords are reunited, basking in the shadows of my light, the story will be over. Go. Spread my love. Goodbye." The son turned to go, running from the ruined town with the weapon over his shoulder. This weapon, here, grandson. Passed on through the family. One day, it will be yours, too.
That's the weapon lore right there. Just my personal spin on it.
