I like the new Sparrow racing but we need to be carful here. This is a great distraction while waiting for the new DLC/content. However with that being said, do we really want to delay new in game content/ideas so they can work on more SRL content? For those of you that are going to tell me they can do both without being any delay. I was in the same boat as you until yesterday. If you read all the update notes you saw this.
This is the quote strait from UrkMcGurk on upcoming content to Destiny
"I’d love to announce it all right now. On Twitter, even. It would do wonders for my follower count, but since the team is currently in development on those projects, it would also be irresponsible. The team just shipped SRL and Update 2.1.0, after all"
My fear is with it being new and fun. It has really become a huge topic for more race content and they may just focus on riding the trend of that instead of new DLC/content/ideas. Before you rip my head off because you love sparrow racing. If new SRL content doesn't affect the new DLC I'm all for it. Just a fear I have
Also is this really a direction we want destiny to go at the cost of other content/ideas? No matter what Department it is that works on whatever content.

Its ok

The assumption is that they only work on one thing at a time and havent started working on anything else. Im sure they have been working on racing for a while. Probably even while working on tkk and house of wolves. Side projects are fine because they would be up to completely seperate teams. They more than likely walk and chew gum at the same time.

I'm sure bungie is well aware that the community would be more thrilled over a dlc or a raid (cabal raid please), then the racing. But since the 3 week racing event is in swing rn, of course they're going to have quite a bit of focus on it right now. Just try to take their perspective.

There's another company that's helping bungie
-
If you had paid any attention to posts from Bungie you would realize that they have a specific team that works on these live events.they do not work on dlc content, there is a different team for that kind off stuff
-
This is Destiny not a racing game.

Urk basically told all of us, new stuff is coming and SRL was just a project they were working on and the only one ready for some type of release before the new year. Not sure why people are losing it or expecting anything more. Winter and Spring 2016. Hold your testies tight and suck it up. I've been here since Alpha and the lack of sparrow racing was one of the first bitch posts on this forum. I distinctly remember people arguing that it will be there on launch and this was the Alpha etc. Let's calm down

Could argue that crucible should never be focused on really. Since destiny is about beating the darkness not other guardians. And story wise, crucible is only the training ground for guardians before they're allowed out in the world against real danger But every weapon nerf/patch we get is down to crucible so as long as that stays as a thing then I do believe racing should continue to be a thing

Space/Starship combat. So far it's just a thing that would be cool that's relegated to cut-scenes that the NPCs participate in. Much like the actual story.
-
They're working on letting us change the hair styles of our guardians next. Stop complaining!
-
I'd rather them work on the game... and racing is now in the game...let them focus on whatever the -blam!- they want
-
-
I respect your opinion on this but I'm not for this petition.

Again Bungie has different departments Luke Smith and his team only work on Raids they have nothing to do with racing. They working on challenge modes for each raid boss right now
-
Luke Smith and his team only work on raids and are working challenge modes for raids right now. The team working races is a different team a different department.

It's three weeks. Let it be.

I agree. SRL is fun and the shaders are awesome but at the core SRL is not why I enjoy destiny. While I don't mind giving up a strike for an additional SRL track, I do fear SRL becoming a focus of future paid expansions.

Bump, Sorry I had it in the wrong category.
