So, sparrow racing in being added for three weeks starting on the 8th. I have some opinions on this which I will be detailing below. So first we have the postives; our sparrows are being given a new shiny look and we get new awesome gear. Not only that but if you observe the trailer you will notice that these new sparrows are not just reskins of old sparrows but actually conpletely new ones. That is pretty good in it's own right. However there are also some issues with this; mainly that Bungie has mentioned Eververse will be involved with this and that it lasts for only 3 weeks. [b][u]The positives in detail[/u][/b] [u]New gear:[/u] Number one is that we will be receiving new gear which is pretty god damn attractive. Am I the only one who likes how that gear all looks? It is pretty sweet. I like the colours involved and not just that but I like the way the gear is designed. It looks aerodynamic and athletic while also have a nice futuristic look as well. I think I will definitely look forward to earning some of that. [u]A use to Amanda[/u] Lets face it, who here ever usually heads to the ship docks? We have two factions there but they are still usually quite empty. This event will add an use for a vendor who is usually quite useless. [u]Sparrow racing[/u] Let's face it, we have all wanted this for a long time and it has taken Bungie a year and almost two months to do it but they have finally doing it. The Dev team is listening to us and they are finally adding things that we have actually asked for. [b][u]The negatives[/u][/b] [u]The usage of Eververse [/u] Let me put this simply, you better keep your promise of keeping this game free of pay to win Bungie. New sparrow emotes or shaders? Fair enough but Bungie better not be adding in superior Sparrows which can only be bought from Eververse as that would be breaking their nice little "cosmetics only" policy. [u]Taken King only[/u] This event is only for those who purchase the Taken King, which is a shame as that cuts out players who have wanted this for a long time. I have the Taken King, but I have a feeling that there will be people out there who do not have the money to buy it who have campaigned for this for ages. It is nice to see this being added, but not so much when veterans are being cut out of it as well if they do not have TK. [u]3 weeks?[/u] It is a shame to see this only last for 3 weeks. Maybe Bungie could add a playlist for the racing that is available all time with crucible/strike tier rewards? Like I have said before, we have wanted this for ages. It would be a shame if it then disappeared after such a short amount of time. ~ Joshua TCB
