I know not too many of you here care about auto racing, but for those who do, this car should be of significant interest to you.
In light of recent racing events, this particular design would should be implemented immediately not only in F1 car design, but even more so the Indycar series.
Note the closed canopy. No more open cockpit.

Last year alone Indycar had 2 drivers either injured or killed by debris. (James Hinchcliffe at Indy-road course, Justin Wilson at Pocono) Had there been a closed cockpit like this, the injuries could not help but have been less severe.
But the whole reason Indycar especially probably won't implement something like this is:
1) They are trying to continue the 'heritage' of open cockpit racing
2) They are trying to continue the 'open wheel' tradition of racing.
Both of which this particular car design have, and really is better for it.
I really do hope that they do implement this type of design into both series. It looks cool, and should be safer for all involved.

It would be very good for the team and the sport. Aesthetically pleasing cars, technical freedom, better racing. Glad to meet another formula 1 and McLaren fan :)
