[spoiler]its only going to be RNG for the ones pre december update, this is actualy a nice change in 2 ways. The first is that from a marketing standpoint it means more money. The second is that from a player standpoint it increases the value of the ones we already have in that it makes them a bit harder to aquire than simply paying for them.[/spoiler]

Regarding your first spoiler (the second doesn't apply), you make a fair point, but aside from the company making money, there is no benefit to this system. Also, since there is no way to sell or trade emotes they have no actual value. They're just a way for the most dedicated players to show support.

Fair enough. My point is though that Bungie is walking a thin line. I feel that soon it's going to wind up full pay-to-win, or even fee-to-pay, which is even worse.
