Giving Destiny a break

I am a 52 year old bloke who only got into consoles with the inception of XBox1. I play destiny infrequently for fun and to wind down after some stressful days at work running a business, I am the first to say that I am not that good, however I do enjoy playing this great game and taking part in a great community, however I am now contemplating giving this game up because of abuse from players that are lucky enough to have the skill and dexterity to play this game effectively every time they pick up a joy pad. I have great admiration for people that can play any type of game on a console, however this does not give them the right to try to "bully" their way forward. My main reason for this post is to say to those people who are impatient with those less fortunate than themselves in the skills they have developed, please remember that Destiny is only a game and for them to be as good as they are there have to be people who are not as good for them to beat in battle. While I am very happy to be one of those that get slaughtered frequently, I am not happy to be abused due to my lack of skill. So for now I go to contemplate whether to unload Destiny from my console and just enjoy single player games with no abuse.
